Blue Monday Winner

Sally, I trust you understand that Blue Monday is a day I sometimes feature someone very special. Today is another one of those days. I invite all of you to join me at http://smilingsally.blogspot.com and enjoy the show.

I am sure there are several out there that have not met my great grandson in the past. Blue being his favorite color, I always show him off on Blue Monday.

Several months ago, he saw an advertisement on the TV that there was going to be a talent competition in Dallas. Out of the clear blue, he asked his parent if they would take him. It was decided they would let him try. He was only five at the time. They were looking for ages 6 and up. He did not qualify at that time, but he impressed one of the talent agents. After his 6th birthday in August, the talent agent remembered him.

Later, they were contacted by this agency and advised there was to be a big competition in Orlando,Florida. Suggested they might like to enter him in it. After considerable deliberation and discussion, they agreed to take him. They were having the competition Christmas week, as the children would be out of school.

To make a long story short, they agreed, agency sent a photographer to Dallas to do a photo shoot on him. He had a short time to learn two commercials, a soap opera scene and monologue by the time they got there. Bear in mind, he went into this cold turkey. No training whatsoever. Here are a couple (out of 200) pictures that the judges used.

They went to Orlando, he did his thing, and walked off with this(out of 600 his age group).

This was made after they returned home.

This is not too good, as it was made and sent on cell phone. It was taken shortly after he won.

They are now faced with one of the biggest decisions they have had to make in awhile. The opportunities are endless and many doors have opened for him.
He has been a star since he was born in my life.

He certainly has a movie-star smile! I'm tickled that he charmed them into paying him some big bucks; how fun it will be to watch him grow.

I haven't been blog visiting in a good while, and I really like your new background theme. Very nice!

Oh, LV! This is so exciting I can't believe it. What a darling little boy! I know you must be so proud of him, and I hope that he has much success in whatever he pursues.

It has to make you wonder if God didn't put that into his heart because he "knew" this was what he was supposed to do. Sometimes I think the Lord will plant a seed, even in the very young about what talents they have, etc.

He's just as cute as can be, and I think he is a very blessed little boy to have you as the president of his fan club.

Happy Blue Monday to you and best of luck to his family on making the right decision whatever that might be...

XO,

Sheila :-)
