Vintage Thingie Thursday

Wonderful vintage goodies for your enjoyment each Thursday at
http://coloradolady.blogspot.com. Our hostess, Coloradolady, makes all this possible.

I had to go to the bottom of my vintage barrel to find something to share.  This is a vintage pink, enamelware colander.  My mother used several over the years, but do not remember ever seeing one like this.

Blue Monday

Smiling Sally
You never know what will turn up blue on Blue Monday.  When you visit
http://smilingsally.blogspot.com beautiful and interesting blues will greet you.

This is the home of a family in East Texas. Every year my sister and I go there and get muscadines (in the grape family).  We love them and he has the best. However, this past year was his last due to health issues and wild hogs eating his vines. At least, another thing he did right was paint the house trim blue.

A nice blue way to close the end of these glorious events.

Pink Saturday

Each week Beverly at
 http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog
arranges for us to enjoy some beautiful pinks. You never know which one will catch her eye. I  am running out of pinks.  Guess I will venture out on a pink hunt.
Perhaps this week you will join me for tea or coffee in these pretty cups with a touch of pink.

A neat why to (spin) spend time.  Nice needlepoint sentiment.

Pink Saturday

Pink Saturday with Beverly each week is such a pleasure.  When you stop by her place at
http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog, you will be blessed with great pinks.

After I took this, was not sure what it represented. At the time, all I was thinking I found something in pink. Later, learned it is a shirt for a musical group with this name

A sad loss of this special lady.

Valentine Special Edition

 Did You Know

About 192 million people Valentine's Day cards are exchanged each year.  That is the largest seasonal card-sending occasion of the year next to Christmas.

73% of people who buy flowers on Valentine's Day are men, while only 27% are women.

Alexander Graham Bell applied for his patent on the telephone, an "Improvement in Telegraphy", on Valentine's Day, 1876.

The first Valentine's box of chocolates was introduced by Richard Cadbury in 1868.

Approximately 110 million roses, the majority red, will be sold and delivered within a 3 day period for Valentine's Day.

Ester Howland was the first American to make commercial Valentine's cards out of scraps of ribbon, lace and pictures.

Since it is Valentine's Day, make sure your love does not fade for someone special.

Vintage Thingie Thursday

Another exciting vintage day with Coloradolady and friends. Check out what each one is sharing at http://coloradolady.blogspot.com

A very nice vintage sewing display that a seamstress might enjoy.

A 1950 Vintage Red Goose advertising shoe sign.  Wish I had one of these.  Looked them up and it is unbelievable what the asking price was.
This special lady and I came from the same depression time frame, just traveled down different paths of life.  I always admired her. Another of the good ones gone.
