Outdoor Wednesday

SCHOOL HAS STARTED

The street running along side my house is as bad as any freeway for speeders. I have these fellows sitting in front of my house real often. Being it is a school zone, the tickets are very costly.

Unfortunately, I live near this school zone. These signs on all sides of the street. We have a school guard crossing, but they seldom use it.

I have no doubt most of you think I am a little weird with some of the things I share. How many turtles have you seen like this one? At least, it is blue.

LV's Sunday Special Edition

1929

Was definitely not a good year for most of the country. Everyone one was going through terrible depression times. However, in the worst of times, you an still find something good.

As you can see, this book was copyrighted in 1929. I have not read the book, but plan to do so. Would like to see what writers had on their minds back then.

Another special event occurred this same year. A baby girl was born

August 25, 1929

An awful lot of water has run under the bridge since that day. No one has a perfect life, but feel I have been blessed in more ways than a lot of people. I am thankful for every birthday I have.

This is my first bloom from Rose of Sharon plant. I never had one until this year. My neighbor gave me a start and this is the first bloom. Has not bloomed since.

Blue Monday

What a great way to start the week by visiting Smiling Sally on blue Monday. You will find her home at http://smilingsally.blogspot.com

Recently one of the towns nearby was having a craft show on the square. One of the vendors had these cool neck bands. As you can see, some of them had a touch of blue. These really felt great on our hot Texas days. They are made using super absorbing polymersis crystals. The same product that is used in baby diapers.
