Blue Monday Trip

Welcome to Blue Monday with Sally at http://smilingsally.blogspot.com. This will be my last post until November 10. I am taking a long overdue trip to Reno, NV with some of my family. I will be flying out Wednesday, November 3. I am taking my camera, so I am sure to find something of interest there I can share. I am sincere when I say I will miss posting and all of you as well. Everyone take care and will see you in few days.
This is some type of sculpture I spotted while I was out and about. Blue Monday was all over it through my eyes.

I won't be on the wings of a butterfly Only wings of a plane.

HALLOWEEN PINK SATURDAY

Our visit with Beverly today will be a little different. She is having a Pink Saturday Halloween party. No telling what exciting things you will see. Check it out at http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog.

The observance of Halloween, which dates back to Celtic rituals thousand of years ago, has long been associated with images of witches, ghosts and vampires. Over the years, Halloween customs and rituals have changed dramatically. Today, Halloween is celebrated many different ways, including wearing costumes, children trick or treating, carving pumpkins, and going to haunted houses and parties.

Trick or Treat!
The estimated number of potential trick-or-treaters in 2009 across the United Sates was 36 million.

Total Production of Pumpkins!
931 million pounds
Costumes rented!
1,814 in 2008 across the nation.

The only way I will observe Halloween, is sharing shots of this spider and his web. The web was huge and in a big circle, but it does not show up in my picture.

Johann Haviland Vintage China

Fall is truly beautiful at Coloradolady. Any part of that state is an awesome sight this time of year. You may not see too much of it on Vintage Thingies Thursday, but you definitely will enjoy a world of vintage thingies. Travel right on over to http://coloradolady.blogsot.com and enjoy the sights.

B O O!

I have a 12 piece place setting of this china and most all the extra pieces. I fell heir to this from the estate of my stepmother. This is a remake of the original Blue Garland. It was manufactured in the late 60s and early 70s for sales promotions. This was distributed mostly in grocery stores. A piece was featured each week and also gave you the opportunity to buy extra pieces at a reasonable price. This pattern looks identical to the original that is stamped Bavaria. The remake is nearly as popular as the original. It was discontinued in 1973. You can still find it at antique malls. However, they can be a little pricey.

All this is packed away in boxes for the next generation.

A Happy Blue Monday

Sally forgive me this one time for putting the spot light on my accomplishment above your button. Over the weekend, I was blessed with my 300th follower(some even have a touch of blue). This is not a big deal for some of you, but for me it is an honor. I am truly excited and thrilled so many would care to visit now and then. Thank you each and everyone. Using BJ's words, I was ready for the "happy dance".

to another great day with Sally at http://similing sally.blogspot.com and her Blue Monday friends.

A couple of Andera figurines. The little boy is trying a catch the goose and put it into his bag. The little girl, in her blue apron, is holding back the dog for him.

Pink Saturday

This is a good, healthy snack. Try it, you will like it. Glad to see they are honoring this worthy cause.

Time for another great visit with Beverly and her Pink Saturday ladies. Take time out to visit with all of us at http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog.
One of my knockout roses showing off its pinks for us today.

One of many pieces of crochet work that I have been fortunate enough to obtain from various family estates. However, do not have too many in pink.

During my visits to various blogs, I found this very nice lady. Take time out and visit Sharon at her "Amelia Rose Cottage". I enjoyed my visit with her and I am sure you will as well. Her link is http://ameliacottage.blogspot.com.
