Vintage Variety Pack

Vintage Thingies Thursdays with Coloradolady has arrived again. These days are clicking off much too fast for me. I do look forward to vintage day as it awakens a lot of memories for me.

This a vintage all metal bottle/can opener. The marking on the back is CMI APP MOD-Vaughn No. 56. This has been in my home for many years. It came from the estate of one of the family members. How many have you seen with black and white pearls.

This little fellow was spotted in an antique mall. I thought at first it was some type meat grinder. Trust me it is not. In case you do not know either, it is a vintage cast iron tobacco grinder. I had never seen one.

The MORTON Umbrella Girl has shown the salt pouring in wet weather since she first appeared on the box in 1914. This is a metal sign of her I saw in an antique mall. Through the years, several updates have been made in her hair and clothing, but the basic trademark has remained.

Rednesday

Should you be a red lover, you are at the right place today. Nowhere except right here with Sue at http://suelovescherries.blogspot.com and her Rednesday friends. She is always glad to have you visit "Its A Very Cherry World".

I spotted this pretty little RED teapot in an antique mall. I did not buy it, but took a picture just for your viewing pleasure.

TEN YEARS FROM NOW

One of my special Canadian friends felt I was deserving of this "You're Going Places Baby" award. I was flattered to receive this. Some days the going gets tough, especially when I goof up my blog. This dear lady calls herself "Falling Off A High- Heeled Life". Believe me if you have been to her blog http://attitudeivlife.blogspot.com, you will know she fell off the high heeled life sometime ago. She is the one that has picked up the pieces and has been going places. She has shared some very touching sides of her life. Thank you so much for thinking of others and passing out these nice awards. You are the one that deserves a medal.

The question that goes with this award is "Where Will You Be In Ten Years From Now".

At my age and this point in my life, I just hope I am still here, healthy and have my mind. Blowing and going. Visiting my blogging friends every day.

It was suggested, we pass the award on to ten others. Sometimes I tend to change the rules to suit me better. Ask them the question, "Where Will You Be In The Next Ten Years". I wonder where each of these ladies will be in ten years:

Ann - Tin and Sparkle
Pam - House of Hawthornes
Anna - Frosted Petunias
Cheryl - March to March
Holly - The Banner Hous News
Niki- Maison Mutt

Blue Monday Wild Ride

Forgive me fellow bloggers and Sally at http://smilingsally.blogspot. Every once in awhile, I have to share this special little fellow with you. Blue is his favorite color as you can tell by what he is wearing today. He loves to be featured on my Blue Monday.

He is intently listening to the operator for proper riding instructions.

Making sure he has the proper grip on the rope.

Then off he goes on the wild bucking mechanical bull ride.

The face of a happy rider with a perfect score. He loved it and wanted me to try it. No way would I even think of such a thing. As most of you know, this young fellow is my great grandson. Layton, hope you enjoyed your day on Blue Monday.

Pink Saturday

This is such a special day to see some of the best pinks ever. Drop by and say hello to Beverly at http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog and her many Pink Saturday friends.

Even nature provides us with pretty pinks along a hot, busy highway. How they grow and survive, I cannot understand.

Some of my crochet that just happened to be in pink.

Vintage Crochet

Today I am featuring just a few of my vintage crochet with Coloradolady and her many other participates.

Bear in mind none of these were made by me. I wish I had known how when my eyes were better. All of these pieces were from various family estates. I am very fortunate to have been able to get them. I love crochet and all other handmade linens. I have way too many to share at one time. I am sorry, but I do not even know the names of the patterns for these. Will do another post later on.

ALL BLOGGERS

This a Blogger Buddy Award that I received. There were no rules, which was nice. I have so many blogging buddies I would never attempt to narrow it down to a few. Please each of you that wish, accept this award on my behalf for all your support and interest in me.

Now this special award, as well as the Buddy Award, came from my great friend/buddy, Marie at http://personalizedsketchesandsentiments.blogspot.com. She does not post very often, but when she does she makes up for lost time. She is a working lady and also does her personalized sketches as well. If you have not seen her work, please drop by for a peek. I am sure you will be greatly impressed. She has done some work for me and it was VERY GOOD and I was well-pleased. Thank you again Marie for everything.
With this Stiletto Award comes a few rules. I love awards, but hate doing this. I have a hard time picking a few as I would never offend or mistreat anyone. The rules were to pass this on to 5-10 others. I selected the following as each of them takes more time than most of us to leave comments. In turn, if you leave one, they acknowledge it as well. I love comments most of all and welcome them. However, it is time consuming. I truly appreciate everyone that visits and leaves comments on my blog.

Sally at http://smilingsally.blogspot.com. As most of you know, it does not matter the number of comments she gets,1-100, she acknowledges every one of them.
