Another beautiful Blue Monday with Jeanne at

Last week, I showcased a very special young man in my life. Today, I am featuring another one. The sad thing is he lives out of town, and do not get to see as much as I would like.
Most young fellows at a certain age might want a hobby horse. Not this one. He prefers the real ones. Rodeos are the name of his game. He gets it honest, as his dad worked the rodeo circuit for a long time. He left it for the executive world.
This is Sam. He just turned 11. He specializes in Calf roping, also known as tie-down roping. The goal of this timed event is for the rider to catch the calf by throwing a loop of rope from a lariat around its neck, dismount from the horse, run to the calf, and restrain it by tying three legs together, in as short time as possible. Timing is crucial He is very good. Won several awards. Some of the nicest belt buckles. Last year, he got his own horse, Lollipop, which makes it easier using the same horse all the time.
Before every performance, Sam and his friends have prayer. No one suggested this. They did it all on their own. It shows a lot about what kind of home they have been raised in.
He would also make a fine TV personality. This is a "pretend" broadcast when he recently visited a local TV station.
