Good Fences

Due to this glorious, unseasonable weather we are having, my sister and I took a little outing last weekend.  We drove a lot of back roads, stayed away from freeways, and enjoyed the fresh air and country sights. We saw this grand ranch along the way.  Wish I could have been able to capture it better, but point and shoot just cannot compete with the better cameras. When you visit, Theresa,

Outdoor Wednesday

 http://asoutherndaydreamer.blogspot.com lets us enjoy some of nature's best.  We are having in Texas unbelievable weather for this time of the year. The past two weeks temperature in the mid and high seventies.  They are predicating possibly 80 on Friday.  Just like summer.  I love it but it is not what we usually have. Wish I could share some of it with those having all the winter storms.

 This is a sunset we enjoyed on Monday evening.

Choctaw Blue Monday

As noted on the photo, these gentlemen are up in years but still doing great. Walter, on the left, served in the U.S. Army from 1944-46.  He still promotes Choctaw heritage in local schools.

Mr. Newman, on your right, is a recipient of the Purple Heart and Silver medal.  Served in the Army from 1943-46.

However, the best part, they both like blue shirts.

Good Fences

A truly beautiful Good Fences day in Texas.  Not sure how long it will last, but sunny, warm days are so nice. Theresa will definitely have some lovely sights to share at http://run-a-roundranch.blogspot.com

I have found many "back roads" to take as opposed to the freeways. One direction I take two or three times a week there is a sign saying "No Outlet".  I got brave today and ventured down the road to see why there was no outlet.  There were several homes along the way.  No outlet due to a house at the end of the road.

What really was a surprise and shock, this huge, gorgeous home among all the smaller ones. It definitely did not fit the area.  This photo does not do justice as it was very large and so beautiful.  I did not want to get caught roaming down a road I had no business.
