Vintage Thingies Thursday-Happy New Year

Another great year with Coloradolady is ending today for 2010. For a final showing of the best of vintage thingies visit her and friends at http://colordolady.blogspot.com. It has been a pleasure participating in Vintage Thursday each week.

The two following coffee percolators are very vintage. My parent used these.
This one was used after we got electricity.

This was before electricity. You just set the pot on the burner. It really would make good, hot coffee.

Look what a little imagination and time can turn nothing into something neat.

These are some of the parts turned into a decorative dust catchers from this type vintage percolators.

A Swedish Surprise

I was really surprised during the holidays when the mail came. I received this great package from Anna in Sweden. For someone completely across the world, to take time to remember me was very touching. She has a great blog. If you like great photography work and flowers, give her a visit. She can be reached at http://annama-trdgslivannatliv.blogspot.com.

This is Christmas card she sent. If you noticed on the left side of the card, is one of her own little tree creations. She does so many great things.

This is a piece of Swedish handcraft.

These are two big, glossy finished pictures of some of her work and the flowers around her. I treasure both of them. I am going to frame the one with pink and white flowers. These shots really do not do them justice.

Thank you Anna from the bottom of my heart for this wonderful surprise. You are so kind and thoughtful. Blessings to you and family during 2011.

CHRISTMAS DAY PINK SATURDAY

This is such a special day for everyone. Trust each of you are sharing it with someone you love. Beverly suggest we share on today's Pink Saturday what we are doing for this blessed occasion. I doubt there will be very little blogging today. But, if you have time, check on http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog to see what Beverly is doing.

Santa has made his stop at this house. Everyone is fast asleep. Today, bright and early, they gathered around the tree and see if they had been good or bad.

I will be with my family on Christmas day. The highlight of the day will be the time spent with my great grandson, sharing his excitement. He is the best present of all.
Whatever you are doing, never forget what this day really represents. If you read this book, Christmas takes on a totally different perspective.

Beverly, you have done a marvelous job on making Pink Saturday all year such a fun post. I appreciate you letting me share a small part on your special Pink day.

TRUST YOU AND ALL YOUR PINK FRIENDS ARE HAVING THE BEST CHRISTMAS EVER.

I would like to take this time to let all my Pink Saturday friends know I have appreciated your visits and comments during this past year. There is nothing as important as love and friends. I treasure all your friendships. May 2011 be kind to all of you.

Christmas Vintage Thingie Thursday

A VERY VINTAGE MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL OF YOU THAT HAVE TAKEN THE TIME TO VISIT. MAY SANTA BLESS EACH OF YOU RICHLY.

This is my vintage decorations.

This is the last vintage visit with Coloradolady at http://coloradolady.blogspot.com before Christmas.

Christmas is a day any age can enjoy. Mostly we think of it as Santa coming down the chimney to visit all the boys and girls. Whether you're making memories by reading to a young child or introducing an older one to characters that delight long after the last page, a favorite book is a lasting gift.

This would be a great one for the holidays. It has a right to be a tattered, as it was given to this lady in 1948. This book was a real classic back then.

Another great book You might consider "Rin Tin Tin" dated 1954.

The two following little books have been around for years as well. This one was issued in June 1963. Regardless of the age, the story is still the same.

This is another version of the same titled book. I made an extra shot to show the date and price back then.

Another great idea for children is music. This first album is dated 1957.

"Bambie" is dated 1969.

"Snow White" is dated 1969.

"Mickey Mouse Club" was issued in 1975.

I doubt the young generation of today ever heard of vinyl records.
