Anything Goes Pink Saturday

Anything goes for pink day now, but I had two more of my pink blooms appear this week. Our hostess makes it easy for all of us each week to find things of interest, but I know she loves pink. A variety of some of the best can be found at http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog

Outdoor Wednesday

Outdoor Wednesday makes hump day for a lot of people much nicer. Our hostess, Susan, would love to have you stop by and say hello at http://asoutherndaydreamer.blogspot.com

This has been my home since 1964.  It no way compares to some of the big, fine houses, but it is home to me. When it was built, it was the only house in the area. The man that built it, only built this one.  I am very blessed to have had very little maintenance all these years.
I keep and maintain the yard myself.  I truly enjoy being outside working in it. Of course, now it takes me a little longer with rest periods thrown in, but it keeps me going. The following beauties are the result of this work and my love of flowers.

Blue Monday

A lovely way to start the week with Jeanne's Blue Monday at backyardneighbor.typepad.com
My post today is in memory of my dear friend Sally.  She loved bluebonnets. I sent her a package of seeds in hopes she might have a few.  However, they are not suited for the area where she lived.  Bluebonnets are more of a Texas flower that blooms in early spring along fields and roadsides. In fact, it was adopted as the state flower of Texas in 1901.

She did not give up on the seeds.  She gave them to her daughter that lives in another area.  In my last conversation with her daughter, she said they were coming up and growing.  No bluebonnets tho.

These few sights are along the roadways around where I live, Fort Worth, Texas.

Nature at her best in this photo.  There are areas in Texas that looks like this, but I have not seen them. Around Ennis, Texas and the hill country, it is likely to be this many.

I miss my friends.

Anything Goes Pink Saturday

Beverly allows us to share more than pinks.  However, I tend to still keep an eye out for them.  When you stop by her place at http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog so many different and interesting sights greet you.

One of my beautiful daisies.

Even the best of cowboys, like a touch of pink.  They look ready to ride.

Good Fencces

There is no place like home.  Glad to be checking out fences with Theresa and friends. She shares some of the best at http://run-a-roundranch.blogspot.com

This fence looks pretty sturdy, but not sure if the other would keep in Texas longhorns.

Senior Fly Away

Some of you know every year in April and October, I take a trip to see my sister in Mississippi.  Now is the time.  I will not have a post until April 20.  Did not want some of you that follow me regularly to think I had kicked the bucket.

Blue Monday

Another fun day with Jeanne and her Blue Monday bunch.  If you have not seen her special Monday feature, please go to backyardneighbor.typepad.com and enjoy the blue show.

This is another fine young fellow that is very special in my life. Just not able to see and visit very often. His name is Luke.  He is 11.

He is interested in many things. Even had a taste of acting in school plays.
He has participated in various sports. However, his biggest interest now is Karate. He has his brown belt and is studying for his red.  This is a Christian Soldiers Karate which teaches American Karate combined and intertwined with the study of God's word. This type Karate is different from the regular.  He can only earn 2 belts a year after he passes their test which is very strict.
In this photo, he is the one with the black helmet.

Anything Goes Pink Saturday

Some of the most interesting things are found each week at http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog

These are definitely not the best of photos, but they do have a touch of pink.  This vehicle was parked in front of me on one of my outings. Nature provided the other for us.
