Blue Monday

Trust everyone had a good weekend and ready for Blue Monday. Smiling Sally's Blue Monday at http://smilingsally.blogspot.com is still available even though she is not back to her old self just yet. Sally, so thankful for the progress you are making. Hang in a little longer.
This old fellow has the right idea these hot, hot days. My neighbor has a very nice camera, and this was taken by him. He very graciously let me share it with you.

Pink Saturday

Thank goodness for another Pink Saturday with Beverly at http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog. This means I have survived another week of intense heat. I would like to apologize to all those that visited me last Pink Saturday. My AC went out. During the process of installing a new one, the power was off. No computer. I do appreciate you taking the time to comment and will do better this week.
I am sitting back, smelling the roses, and staying cool.
I am sure there are plenty little ones out there that would enjoy having this pink tractor. I spotted it at an antique mall.http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif

I had a very nice visit with Cathy at "Stitchfork Designs" this week. She is a master at monograms and embroidery, which are two of my favorite things. You will be delighted and pleased with the quality of work she does. Take a minute and say hello at http://stitchforkdesigns.blogspot.com.

June 1964-July 2011

If you live where the heat wave is going on, visit the cool Coloradolady and her VTT show. Anything with Colorado in it has to be cooler. She can be reached at http://coloradolady.blogspot.com.
Chrysler and I have been together since June 1964. He has served me well. Over the past few years, he developed some issues. Just before each summer season, he needed a freon transfusion. After that, he perked up and did just fine. Regretfully, on July 20, 2011, he said I am sorry, it is time for you to let me go. It's crazy I know, but I was sad over this loss.

He was laid to rest Friday, July 22, 2011.

Outdoor Wednesday

Outdoor Wednesday with Susan and her friends is a great mid-week break. Get a big glass of ice tea, coffee, sit back and enjoy the show.
Wish this fellow would let the cars go and keep an eye on the squirrels in my yard. They are cute to watch, but digging big holes in the yard.

Blue Monday

Trust Sally is smiling for Blue Monday and much stronger. Even though we cannot link in, you can still visit http://smilingsally.blogspot.com and perhaps get news of her condition.

Blue skies are smiling on Sally as she is improving. The dancing waters even got excited and began preforming.

Pink Saturday

O'Happy day, Pink Saturday is coming our way. Beverly at http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog spends so much time making this day so special for us each week. Thank you for being such a great hostess.

After being in the yard, come inside and freshen up at this pretty pink vanity. Spotted this on one of my roaming around days.

For another exciting visit, click over to http://colonymountainstitcheries.blogspot.com and say hello to Mary. Her home of "Colony Mountain Stitcheries" is filled with some of the prettiest folk art dolls you will find anywhere. Look like cute little girls.

Dining With Dino

A good place to visit and cool off is Coloradolady's Vintage Thingies Thursday. Just her name makes you think of a cooler place and many cool friends. Join her at http://coloradolady.blogspot.com.
As I have mentioned before, I have always been a big fan of Dean Martin. He was performing at the Riviera Hotel in Las Vegas in the early 70s. My husband and I and another couple ventured out into an unknown world for us. Our main purpose was to attend his show.

The menu we had for the dinner performance.
Back then was very different than now. We booked our reservations at this hotel in order to hopefully see him. That was the policy back then, stay at the hotel of the performance if you wanted to get in. We elected to see the dinner show. Even though you had a ticket, you still had to stand in line for the seating. We found out the reason standing line. When you got to the door, the more you tipped the maitre d, the better table you got. We pooled our resources and got a good table, not front row, but better than in the kitchen. They also had a dress code back then. We dressed up in our best and enjoyed every minute of it. No cameras were allowed.
I even brought home the shoe shine cloth in the room
as well as the ash tray.
Dean on movie location. Wish my vintage brain could recall the movie.

These are just a few of his many albums I have.

REDnesday

A cool place to visit is Sue and REDnesday. Lots of pretty cool reds from everywhere. However, where I am nothing is cool. You can find so many nice people at htt://suelovescherries.blogspot. every week.

This is one of my many quilts with a touch of red.

JUST ME TUESDAY

Thank goodness they never moved. My great grandson and some crazy woman.

I do love blogging. I thought this was kinda cute. I could be the lady and that fellow rather looks like a man in my church. He is a little heavy set, not too much hair, wears glasses and four top teeth right in front out. I use to sit in a certain seat each Sunday. I missed one Sunday and when I came back he was in my spot. So I just moved to the other end of the bench. Now he is regular on one end and me on the other. He jumps my case if I miss a Sunday. Said he could not hold that bench down by himself. If he keeps his mouth shut and stays on his end of the bench, we got it made.

Pink Saturday

It is always a pleasure seeing Pink Saturday roll around again. Join Beverly and her pink ladies at http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog and view some of the hottest pinks ever.

Just a small pink greeting from the Mickey Mouse little ones.
When you go to get your bad hair day fix, do they have a pretty chair like this? Where I go, just plain old black. Nothing this fancy. Or, this might be used as a pink computer chair.

Vintage Stars

Thursday is the best vintage day of the week. To see what I mean, go to http://coloradolady.blogspot and say hello to Coloradolady and her guests.
You probably cannot tell it, but this is the autograph of Larry Gatlin. Back in the 70's my co-workers took me to lunch for my birthday. He was in town for a show and happened to be eating in the same restaurant. He was very friendly and happy to share in my birthday.
As you can see this one is from Johnny Cash. Several years ago, my husband and I were on vacation in Jamaica and stayed at a hotel he was part owner. While there he came through the hotel. Naturally, I had to have his autograph. I regret not having them date each of these. Now that I am older, dates become more important.

Howard Duff and Ida Lupino that was caught at some event. Been so long, I forgot where.

Now I have had a crush on Dean Martin all my life. A friend of mine was on vacation in the late 60s or early 70s, and Dean was there on location making a movie. He very graciously got this as well as several other shots of him for me.

This one really goes back in time. Red Buttons and I.

Make a note to drop by my blog on Thursday's VTT, July 21, for another chapter.
