Vintage Fiddle

Off we go to the cool Coloradolady location. It has to be cooler there than here. For testing purposes go to http://coloradolady.blogspot.com and see what cool vintage things her friends share.

This little cobalt blue fiddle bottle belongs to my sister. They were originally produced in the 1930s. This was found and bought in the late 70s or early 80s.

It has embossed strings on the front. The only marking on the bottom is number 5. Collectors call these bottles VIOBOTS. This one is in mint condition. Cork stopper is missing. I have no idea what was originally in this bottle. I assume some type of drink.
Placed in front of a lamp makes it look like the lamp base. Added just a little vintage concept with a modern look.

This is just lovely, is it a collectable? It may be worth quite a bit, I wonder if there are any more that are other instruments, you could collect them and have a whole orchestra! They would look beautiful on a windowsill.

Hi LV. I love the cobalt blue of that bottle. It's so unusual, isn't it? Definitely vintage! As you said, it looks really good in front of the lamp. Hope all is well with you over there,.

My very favorite shade of blue, for it's the color of the little pointy bottle of Evening in Paris with the small tassel, which the neighbor girl (a senior when I was in first grade) let me dab behind my ears a couple of times. She'd let me watch her get ready for a date---pulling on her stockings, putting on her lipstick with a little-finger smooth around and a blot of toilet paper, and THEN the opening of that fragrant drawer where the "perfume" lived.

What a lovely memory! Thank you.

I remember friends of my mother that had these 0-- always in the window where the sun could shine through.

My mom gave me a vase just like yours that was her mothers. I love it and actually have it on my little shelf in my dining room right now. The color is so pretty and I always think of my mom when I look at it. Thanks for visiting Cottage and Creek and leaving your dear comment. We women are strong, aren't we? And God is so faithful.
Blessings to you and have a wonderful weekend.

Very intriguing! Hmmm, add a red and a white something and this cute bottle in the lovely blue shade, and you'll have one of those cute patriotic centerpieces. :) Have a blessed and happy holiday weekend. :)

I have two of those violin bottles that were my grandmother's. She always had them in her front window. I now have them in my window. She collected cobalt blue glass and I have some of her pieces. Thanks for sharing.

So delightful! I have no musical talent but if I did I would have chosen to play the violin and the piano. This would be perfect for Blue Monday too. Anne
