Vintage Chairs

Today I am just sitting around relaxing with Coloradolady and her vintage friends. Come join me at http://coloradolady.blogspot.com

This is a very old straight back chair that belonged to my parents. It has had a paint job over the years. I need to strip it back to its original color.
Now this one is a real prize. I am sitting in some type chair, but have no idea what it was. Everything in this photo is vintage now.
This vintage rocker belonged to my husband's grandparents. So it goes back probably to the late 18th or early 19th century. A very comfortable rocker. It is in its original condition.

Isn't it wonderful to still have these chairs in your home. I'm sure they evoke so many wonderful memories.
Love the baby picture.

Like wine, everything gets better with age. That's my story and I'm sticking to it! :o)

Everything in my childhood is vintage now, as well.

Delightful chairs, and what a sweet photo! I really hated that in my children's young years, they stopped the hand-tinting and used that horrid "totally real" shiny photography.

I love the sweet pastels of the old pictures.

I have quite a few chair pictures and posts planned, too! The last chair looks to be the most comfortable. You are so cute, but look like you are NOT comfy in that chair! The picture is priceless!

I love your baby picture! Have one of my dad, taken in Scranton Penna around 1915 that has a similar pose. You can imagine I treasure that! Love the rockers, too, I have my mom's though it's not her original rocker, don't know what happened to that. However, I treasure the one I have from her later times. Thanks for sharing over at Coloradolady's party! I always enjoy your comments on my blog, look forward to seeing you again soon.

awwww, I love the photo and you know, my sister has quite a few chairs from my Grandparents house that she either needs to re-finish or give them to me; they are BEAUTIFUL pieces and irreplaceable.

Oh LV that picture is gorgeous. I zoomed in and really looked at the detail of that sweet dress. Looks like lots of trim and little tights to match. So cute. I think its neat you have the chairs too.

How nice that you have saved the old chair to sit down and remember
This weekend is perhaps Sweden's biggest weekend.
We celebrate the summer solstice and we hope that the sun will shine tomorrow. Many people have a party until the sun comes up!
My daughter works at the company's Florida office this week and she told me that it was so hot there.
A wish for cooler weekend for you.

What a great picture. You look so serious. You're probably thinking, "Why haven't they invented blogging yet? I've got so much to do." =)

Love the chairs, especially the rocker. Something about rockers that are so comforting. I have two very old ones. One is an heirloom from my husband's family, the other I picked up at a yard sale not long ago for $3.

Rock on, Miss LV.

Hey LV,
That picture of you is so darling! What a treasure it is..and so is that old rocker and chair. I don't know why but lately on my treasure hunts I'm finding myself navigating toward the old chairs and rockers...I've picked up a couple of odd ones recently and...If I find anymore...I don't know where I'll put them all lol...do you think I'm starting on a new collection?! Hope you have a nice weekend...
Big hugs,
