Hopefully your roses will get some more rain so they can keep blooming. I love the painting too!

I love the old primitives of the solemn-faced children. But I DO hope that sometimes they got out of the stiff clothes, and ran and laughed.

Your roses are lovely! We've been getting lots of rain, so everything is growing well, including the weeds!
Happy REDnesday!

Very cool picture, but the roses are always my favorites and I have some today, too. I was out walking with my granddog AND my easy to use digital camera and he behaved and so did my camera and I got a fun shot for Rednesday. :) Have a blessed week, LV. :)

Not much rain here. I don't expect we'll have another drop until October or November. But that's normal for our summers - hot and dry. Your roses look great. Mine are past their peak and just hanging on.

Like the red lady too.

Hi there, thanks so much for visiting me and leaving a comment. Your roses are beautiful. We haven't had the greatest spring weather here so we are hoping summer will be an improvement. I admire you for starting a blog! Keep it up. I find it almost theraputic, especially this past winter when I didn't get out much. Blessings,
Pamela

Liv, I knew as soon as I saw your photo of the girl in red that there was a story behind that painting. But, it took a while for my swiss cheese senior memory to recall enough for me to find the information on the web.

Your photo is of a copy of a classic folk art painting by Ammi Phillips. The orginal hangs in the Ameriacan Folk Art Museum.

You will find the story and the info on the painter etc. if youclick here

Your red rose is awesome. In Texas heat how is it surviving? The folk art pic is neat. My sis Debbie painted a folk art picture of two sisters and my hubby calls it the "ugly girls". Deb dosen't take offence---she just created pics like they used to paint.

We also had rain here. My smaller roses are blooming so well but my big climbing rose is eaten by black ants. I love this rose because the color is salmon but I cut many buds because of the ants. Now I bought an ant killer lol!! Hopefully my roses will be blooming back soon. Great shot LV and thanks for the visit.
