Vintage Thingies Thursday: Vintage Scales

What a great way to spend your day visiting with Coloradolady at Vintage Thingies Thursday. Invite your friends, and come on over for a great time.

This is a Model 404, Toledo scale. It is white porcelain and very heavy.
Scale will measure 1 cent and 2 cent graduations and up to 3 pounds.

I has no springs with honest weight.

I purchased these scales in the 80's at an antique mall in Jackson, Tennessee. I just use it as anothere dust catcher on a dry sink in what I call my antique room.

This little vintage scale is a Hanson Viking Jr., Model 890. It is a 25 pound spring balance model. I figure it was used as a fish or mail box scale.

Did you know in 1933, you could buy a pair of double bed sheets for .67 cents. My how time has changed!

Those are very nice. I don't exactly know why but I love to look at old scales in antique shops. I own a couple of vintage ones but none that nice!

As I was dusting yesterday, I thought how quickly the chore would go if I didn't have so much stuff. My next thought was how boring our house would look without all my wonderful junk.

I have been looking for vintage scales. Yours are wonderful.

Love the scales. I wonder how many women passed up buying sheets because they were too expensive? New sheets were probably a luxury in 1933.

I've never even seen any like these! How interesting to see them. On a "scale" of 1-10, I'd give you a 10!
