One Shot Vintage Thingies Thursday

Coloradolady invites each of you to drop by for a great Vintage Thingies Thursday showing. Some of the best vintage things can be found at http://coloradolady.blogspot.com.

Everything in this photo is old. Only exception is my great grandson, Layton. He is just seven. Clicking on the pictures should make it larger to show better details.

l. The paneling on the walls was installed in 1964 when house was built.

2. Old dipper with just a touch of paint.

3. The telephone, made in the 1900s, is very vintage with all the original parts.

4. The hutch was bought in the early 70s.

5. Note the antique green glassware on the hutch.

6. Also, just a glimpse of yellow antique cup and saucer inside the hutch.

7. On top of the telephone, with flowers, is an old glass door knob.

8. Even that artificial greenery has been there since the 80s.

9. On top the hutch is an enamel chamber pot popcorn bowl. This was hand painted by Karen Daugherty, an artist, from Littleton, Colorado in the eighties.

10. The log cabin birdhouse has been with me a very long time as well. Just cannot remember the date.

11. Two little white dollies on the phone were made in the 60s.

Sew some pink around for October's Pink Awareness Month.

Wow! There's a lot in that photo to admire. Love the phone! The little man is a cutie and bears a wonderful name. My father and my first grandchild's middle name is also Layton. I always enjoy my visit, LV. Thanks for sharing.

Blessings,
Sandi

Oh I do love your phone! I have one that is a reproduction. It is our standby phone when we have a power outage as it isn't electric. Thanks for stopping by Behind the Gate and I enjoyed getting to meet you.
Blessings,
Gayle

What a charming corner, with all its heirlooms and lovely saved things!

And that style and the paneling just call to me---it was in my home for such a long time, and even the hours spent putting Old English on the ENTIRE ROOM with old woolly socks were well-spent.

You must certainly do the rice-bag-shake with that greenery---it looks like new (says rachel of the dusty leaves).

Where is this? Such pretty things! But do I understand that the chamber pot was used to eat popcorn from? Your grandson is sooo cute!

Oh LV so nice to peak a little of your home, I'm loving the hutch with all the lovelies inside! That phone is a treasure and the paneling on the wall brings a lot of memories from our house in Astoria, Queens... my dad had the living room paneled just like that! Your grand-treasure is the best, so adorable and cute!...how many grands do you have and great-grands?? My mom's got 3 kids, 7 grandkids and six great-grands, she's also 81. Thank you for your lovely visit I so appreciate it. Hugs, FABBY

Great old picture. I like old things. I guess that's because I'm old.

I am so thrilled to stop by and see your wonderful post this evening. You just keep getting better and better. I love reading your posts sweetie.

Love the phone, and the little dipper is priceless. Can you imagine dipping a drink from the well to quinch your thirst? Love the grain in the paneling as well.

Hugs to you sweet friend and so happy to be back. Many hugs and much love, Sherry

Aw! Love this photo of Layton and all your vintage things! ("Everything in this photo is old. Only exception is my great grandson, Layton. He is just seven. haha Love that!) How absolutely wonderful that you live near enough to see each other when you do. My heart's desire is that one day we live closer to where our children and future grandbabies live!

Blessings & Aloha!
It has been wonderfully busy with art and calligraphy orders (and work at the dental office too), but wanted to be sure I stopped by to say thank you my friend for your visit and comment! It brightens my day!
