Pink Saturday

Our gracious hostess, Beverly at http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog, invites each of you to join her for Pink Saturday.

Several years ago, I enjoyed a sip of good pink or white wine. These pretty pink wine glasses were a gift. I did not use them very much. The wine started giving me terrible headaches. I decided it was better to give up the pleasure of wine, that have headaches. They just sit now and collect dust.

These are not the best pictures of the glasses.
A single stem resting on pink trimmed crochet piece.

I invite each of you to drop by and visit with Lynn, the "Flea Market Lady". She has not had this blog very long. She definitely fits in well with the rest of us. Most all bloggers love antique malls, garage sales, estate sales and flea markets. You might learn a new trick for your shopping sprees. Go to http://fleamarketlady.blogspot.com and say hello.

Beautiful glasses!
I have the same problem with wine...but then we were in France, no headaches! I guess it the the preservatives the US puts in their wine-I need to move to France....LOL
Thanks for sharing!

These glasses are really so beautiful, a shame not to use them! I would use them as water glasses for company! And also maybe display them somewhere. I will check out this new blog!

Beautiful wine glasses, Lavoice. Hope someone in your family will want some of your special treasures like this someday...

Your pretty pink glasses are lovely! A lot of people have that problem with wine - it seems that it is caused by wines that have sulfates in them. Try a sip of one that is sulfate free and you should be fine! Have a great weekend!

Your pink glasses are very pretty, LV! I don't drink wine either and I too have some lovely pink glasses. So I make use of mine by serving fancy desserts and parfaits in them. I bet berries layered with pudding and whipped cream would look fabulous in yours too. Happy Pink Saturday and enjoy your weekend.

Blessings,
Sandi

Your pink wine glasses are so pretty! I find that red wine sometimes gives me headaches and is supposed to be a no-no for headache sufferers. It's the preservatives in red wine. I will be sure to visit Lynn!

Noticed your previous post, and it's another scorcher today isn't it? 104!

Those are stunning wine glasses!!!! Maybe you could use them for other drinks--such as ice tea. I'd use them if it were me!!!!
Happy PS.

Hello LV, I am taking a few minutes to visit a few friends. My grands are playing games and their music.

Thank you so much for the sweetest comments while I have been unable to spend time on my computer. You are a dear blogging friend. Your comments make me smile LV.

I love your pink wine glasses. They are different and so pretty. I love to have a bit of wine once in a while. I am thankful I do not get a headache from wine. I do know several people that have that same problem.

Happy Pink Saturday.
Love, Jeanne

I love those pink goblets! I have been looking for some and will continue my hunt until I am successful! You could put sparkling cider in them and avoid the headache and still use them. I could drink an entire bottle on my own. =0)

LV, your glasses are just gorgeous. You could always use them as upside down cloche type pieces on your mantle or tables tucking pretties inside for display. Or, nestle gloves or a doily inside with seasonal touches added. I see such decorating potential for these beauties.

Have a lovely PS weekend.

I had three glasses of wine tonight; this is unusual for me but it was free with dinner. I love your wine glasses. Perhaps you could pour ice tea, lemonade, or pop that you like to drink in them. How glorious that will make you feel.

What a gorgeous share today. I love seeing your beautiful wine glasses. (I have a pink set as well, I don't drink wine, so I enjoy sipping tea now and again from mine.) I love the pretty colored stems on yours. Makes the pop.

Your crocheted doily is just beautiful. I love using them as well. They just make one HAPPY.

Have a gorgeous weekend sweetie. Many hugs and much love from Phoenix, Sherry

Hi LV - I so sympathise re the wine. I love a glass, especially with a meal - but it now gives me a slight headache and brings on my hot flashes. Definitely not worth it for one single glass! But I do miss it, if only for the stem ware, lol

Happy Pink Saturday - and scream if you need any help with the screensaver.

Love your pretty pink glasses (I have finally realized and admit that I LOVE glassware (drinking glasses)...whenever we are out shopping, I find that for some unknown reason, I am drawn to unique, fun or unusual glasses...from vintage to those you can find currently produced. Oh and I love your crochet piece...like I love all the crocheted pieces you have shown previously.

Blessings & Aloha!

Love your pink glasses, especially the second photo.

Talking about wine, I just had like 3 glass of moscato together with my friends it's not often that we drink and it gives me headache.

I don't drink, but I don't let that stop me from using pretty glasses. If you like them, I'd use them anyway. Somehow food and drinks always seem to taste better in "good" dishes and glasses.

Love your glasses! If they were mine I'd be using them at dinner time. They would certainly dress up my table. Have a great weekend. Happy Pink Saturday!

Hey LV!
As often is the first to comment on my blog. Hope all is well with you. In Sweden, where we have the summer house, it has been a Mediterranean climate for several weeks. North Pole in winter, and the Mediterranean in the summer :-)
I've overworked the knee o leg. A sprain. Takes time to heal when you can not be in silence
Wine glasses are adorable. Use them to water if you can not tolerate wine. you have to gild the days;-)
Now I will prepare a barbecue on the mountain, where the wind blows some good. The sun does not go down there about. 23:00
hugs

I always wonder if the headaches many people get from wine are caused from the wine itself or the myriad additives used to make wine. You might try an organic wine someday and see if that is better. A pity to live without wine, especially with such pretty glasses!

My middle daughter uses her wine glasses to drink juice from each morning... she has the same problem as you with the wine... but has beautiful glasses...just like you... and she likes to use them...

don't let them sit... drink your favorite juice or milk or whatever you enjoy everyday... live, laugh, love! Dixie
