June 1964-July 2011

If you live where the heat wave is going on, visit the cool Coloradolady and her VTT show. Anything with Colorado in it has to be cooler. She can be reached at http://coloradolady.blogspot.com.
Chrysler and I have been together since June 1964. He has served me well. Over the past few years, he developed some issues. Just before each summer season, he needed a freon transfusion. After that, he perked up and did just fine. Regretfully, on July 20, 2011, he said I am sorry, it is time for you to let me go. It's crazy I know, but I was sad over this loss.

He was laid to rest Friday, July 22, 2011.

You even decorated him with a wreath!!!! You're so clever. Hopefully you didn't have to wait to long in this heat to get a replacement.

Awwww, Sweetpea!!! You have my deepest sympathy for your loss, and congratulations on your long and happy years together.

That was a lovely, heartfelt eulogy, and I'm sure your dear Chrysler left many friends to mourn his loss.

(You DO know that the Mourning Period in THIS weather is five minutes, do you not? It's quite proper to move on as soon as the Appliance Bearers carry him respectfully out of the house).

May your new relationship be as long and as comfortable.

The next one will probably last six months to a year. They don't make things like they used to!

It's not a car, it's a furnace/air conditioner?

If I had a heat/air unit that lasted that long, I think I would feel kindly toward it too. We just replaced a five year old unit and I didn't even give it a second glance. We would like to have some natural cool air,the kind we don't have to buy from the electric co.

I can only hope Chrysler's replacement lasts at least 47 years. This is a nice tribute to a faithful friend.

LV, I knew you were a woman after my own heart! I drive my car as long as it will allow me. The one I have now is 8 years old with 47,000 miles. I hope it lasts as long as your did! Good work!

They sure don't make them like they used to. The wreath is a lovely touch.

Just remember all the good years you had together, all the days and nights he kept you cool.

Now your electric bills might be cheaper with a newer unit.

I'm mourning the loss of your air conditioning! We have no air at the cottage and it was 88 degrees at midnight last week, yikes! I love that you are 81 years young and blogging, you are an inspiration. Thank you for your nice comments about our cottage garden post, I hope you will stop by again.
