Blue Monday

It is a very cold Blue Monday for me today. Guess I will drop by and visit with Sally at http://smilingsally.blogspot.com. She always has a warm welcome out for all of us.

You do not have to be a young girl to enjoy dolls. Dolls styled like this were all the go many years ago. They were called pillow dolls and used on beds.

A Prayer For Speeders:

45 mph: God Will Take Care of You
65 mph: Nearer My God to Thee
85 mph: This world Is Not My Home
95 mph: Lord, I'm Coming Home
100mph: Precious Memories

Howdy Lv
oh how did you know ?
I have been thinking about these sweet dolls as Christams time rolls around.
My Grandmother use to make them and she let me help.
She would sell them to make extra money for the holidays.
Oh how I miss the sound of her non electric treadle sewing machine .
I wish I would have been wise enough to have saved one of these precious dolls but in our family everything got handed down and passed around sooner or later .
Hey maybe there is still one floating around in a relatives attic :)
Thanks for your Blue Monday inspiration L.V.
Big Hugs
Until next time
Happy Trails

You come up with the absolute best stuff here! Speeding toward God! Thank is so precious. I love dolls and this one is such a sweetheart I saw one at the thrift store this week. Someone put a lot of time and effort into her I wish I could have purchased her.

I remember when it seemed that everyone had a doll like this one on their bed. Sometimes, a white puppy would rest on the pillow too!

Happy Blue Monday, La Voice.

Happy Blue Monday to you and thank you for stopping by and commenting.
That pillow doll is something - so pretty and so fancy! All those layers! I was at the Antique Mall today with my youngest looking for a bench for the front hall area by the door - saw lots of lovely dolls. I did buy a doll, a boy & girl Korean pair- he's in blue. Maybe you'll see him soon :-)
