Pink Saturday/ Cancer Awareness

Today's Pink Saturday is not the regular norm. Beverly, our hostess, http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog, suggest we feature Cancer Awareness day. I pray all of you will be blessed, and never have to experience what so many ladies are going through.

I trust all you ladies are seeing this machine each year.

Pink ribbons tied to trees make far a very pretty reminder.

Are you eating healthy?

Marching for a good cause. Not in my lifetime, but I pray one day there will be a cure for this terrible disease.

After your Cancer Awareness meeting, skip over to http://asentimentallife.blogspot.com, and enjoy a great visit with Ann. She leads a "Sentimental Life" which will delight you.

I pray for many who are walking and running this weekend. There is a young woman who is battling breast cancer and she is pregnant. She had a double masectomy and will deliver her baby this December. She is the captain of a team that will walk this Sunday. She is such an inspiration. But she hurt her foot walking and probably will have to sit out the race on Sunday. On a more personal note, I just got my card in the mail to remind me to schedule my mammogram! You posted a lovely piece tonight. Thank you and stay healthy! Anne

G'eve LV ~ What a fantastic write today. Great reminder for me ... TY.

Sorry I have not been with you more lately. We finally finished both house constructions & took off for 2 weeks. I apologize, but will be better now.

Happy Pink Saturday and what a beautiful share this evening. I am so thrilled with this one. I love your photos and choice of words. So great.

Yep, I have my mammogram scheduled on time for next month. My turkey of a month for sure.

Have a gorgeous Saturday sweetie, and thanks for sharing a little love with me this evening. Many hugs and so much love, Sherry

Fabulous post, LV... One of my best friends has Stage IV Breast Cancer which is in her bones (all over).. She is fighting for all she's worth --and has a fabulous attitude, but I don't think she'll win the war... God Bless Susan..

Hugs,
Betsy

It's so sad that we all have been affected by this terrible disease - either personally, through friends and family or even more sadly, both.

I'm lighting a candle for my friend who died in May this year.

Happy travels!

My sister and I go every July for our mammograms. We make a day of it, test in the morning, lunch and shopping after. Happy Pink Saturday.

Hi LV, Praying with you! Loved your photos of the old cookbooks as well. Brought back such sweet family memories of my senior grandma - an expert at both cooking and gardening! Thank you, and have a blessed day. :)

Yes I definately saw that machine a few weeks ago, my sister is a breast cancer specialist-nurse practicioner. She calls me up if I'm 1 week overdue. Your photos are really neat. Happy Pink Sat.

I just saw your comment and it was so funny because I was clicking on your blog. We think alike for today's pink huh? We need to do everything we can to further the research and cure of this terrible disease. I am very aware of the risk in our family for breast cancer.

Have a wonderful weekend my sweet friend.
Love, Jeanne

Great Post Dear! It simply reminded me...

Let's all pray together that experts would find a cure for this disease and that every woman would be aware about it and schedule ourselves for a mammogram...

I am in awe... a blog at 81. I hope to be doing the same in 30 years! Also, I love your "about you" statement... "I do what I want, when I want." That is the beauty of the other side of 50, true? Thank you for stopping by my blog! It was fun to stop by yours!
