Good things can come to those who least expect them.
This is a gardenia bush of my neighbors. It has been a solid mass of pretty, fragrant blooms this year.
This is the only one left now.
I do not have a bush, so I cut me a clipping. Put into water and it stayed pretty several days. Soon turned yellow and died. The green leaves were so bright and shiny, decided to just keep them in the water. Several more days passed. One morning, to my surprise, that stem had roots going in all directions. Was so shocked as never realized it would happen.
This is the result of that little twig that rooted. Have it planted in my flower bed and this is the first bud.
This is a full bloom now. No one in my neighborhood can get over this. Said they had never seen this small gardenia bloom. They all are trying to root them one.

Bonjour,
It seems you have "green fingers". Nature is always surprising isn't ?
I have not gardenia in my garden but I believe it has a nice fragrance.
two little miracles - first the rooting, then the bloom on such a tiny, tiny sprig! awesome!
That's amazing. I bet it made your heart happy to see the first bloom.
Congrats for your success in growing a Gardenia. They smell better to me than most any flower. I chose a Gardenia to wear for my Senior Prom (high school). Hope your plant just continues to grow and grow.
Hugs,
Betsy
the grew quite nicely
You must have a marvelous green thumb. I've tried to root plants with little success. Your gardenia is beautiful.
