Pink Saturday's Autum Serving

Beverly is allowing us to serve you pink or autumn goodies today.  As you know, it is supposed to be fall.  However, in Texas, we are far from it. Temperatures are more like spring and the flowers think so too. As you can see below, this is my rose bush in full bloom now. Perhaps the other participates at http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog live where autumn is more prevalent.

Various stages of my beautiful pink rose. A big bud. Do not have any idea what the name of it is.
A little larger bloom.

In its final stages before the wind blows it away.

I have this big bur oak tree in my yard.  These are some of the acorns from it  They did not get as large as usual due to the dry, hot weather.

I would like to introduce Leslie. She is one of the nicest bloggers. I had the privilege of getting acquainted with her through a giveaway she recently had on her 200th post. I was the fortunate one to win. She is a very talented lady with many interests. If you have not visited her blog, please do so at http://brookhollowlane.blogspot.com.  You will be glad you did. Another nice thing, when she asked for my mailing address, we discovered we do not live too far apart. She does not live in Fort Worth, but a few miles farther North. Perhaps one day, we can meet in person.

While I was out of town, her giveaway package arrived. What a pleasure and joy it was opening and finding these very nice items.

An autumn tag with a great verse.
The mixed orange gift is candy coated chocolatey sunflower kernels. This pretty brown autumn package is 20 guest towels.

This is a first for me.I have done a lot of hand work in the past, but never saw a book this cute. It is called " The Kitchen Linens Book" with the best information and photos ever.
Linens is one of my greatest weaknesses.  I have several pieces, but still want all I see.  These are a pair of lovely crochet dollies.

I love and so pleased with all my goodies, but this one goes to the top of the list.  It is  a very pretty fall wreath.  She made this from wool fabric pieces..  It is much prettier than shown here.

Two very nice linen napkins with great detail work.  This picture does not do them justice.

Leslie, thank you again for this wonderful package.  My winning anything is few and far between, but this was truly one of the nicest gifts I have received in a long time.

Hi LV, I love the roses. The roses are done blooming here in the mountains. It is freezing at night already. winter is early this year.

Even though it was great being in Florida for over two weeks I am glad to be home. No more football games this fall. We are looking forward to Thanksgiving.

Your gifts are all so pretty. How generous Leslie's giveaway is. Lucky you. I too love the wreath made out of wool. So creative.

I would love to share our leftovers with you. Smile. Pie for breakfast just for you and me. We can dream huh?

Love, Jeanne
