Charley's Vintage Day

Hop on broad, we are going to see Coloradolady for an enjoyable day of great vintage thingies. You get off at http://colordolady.blogspot.com.
Saw this in an antique mall. I have watched Charley Weaver in the past, but had not seen in him on display.

We actually owned a Charlie Weaver when I was a kid. His smoking ears eventually caused a short and he died - but as a kid I loved him. My favorite was the cocktail shaker that he shakes back and forth. My sister inherited him - I am not sure if she still has him or not.

My grandparents had this doll...I was amazed to see the smoke and the face lighting up.

Haven't heard that name in years. My hubby and I used to watch him TV ages ago. They really have him priced pretty high.

I bet Ole Charley would be Shakin' his Shaker and Flippin' over in his grave to know he's still in good condition and priced for 300 Bucks. I've never seen one of these before, LV. What a fun find.

Today I'm sharing a special post about the 1940 US Census Community Project. I hope you will stop by CollectInTexas Gal and see how this information might be helpful to you...especially if you are interested in your Family's Genealogy...Sue

Charley Weaver : Have not heard of him before.

We prayed for the Thailand project. Somepeople think we should take care of our own back yard first.

Hi LV! I remember Charley Weaver when I was little - he would be on Steve Allen, or something? I remember he had this sweet folksy sense of humor. (Some might not know he is the grandfather of all the acting Arquette children - Patricia, David, Rosanna, etc.)

Happy VTT!

I was just going to say that those animated toys are usually worth a lot of money, then I saw the price sign! Yep - - - I'd say that's a lot of money for a little toy!

I'm ecstatic to say I'm just a tad too young to remember him. He sure is cute. I'm not sure he's $300 cute, though. Thanks for sharing.

I've never seen a Charley Weaver...was he from a t.v. show? wow, I wonder what he originally cost?

Blessings & Aloha!
LV, thank you sooo much for your sweet visit! I am way behind again with blog visits! I just posted some photos of our grandbaby...the week goes by so quickly, but wish it was quicker to the day we fly out to see them...and then go real slow during the week that we are there :o)

Every time I see one of those, I think of the bar my father's parents had down in their basement (never saw anyone use it -- it was just an intriguing part of the house) I wonder if they actually had one, or if my imagination just puts him there because he'd fit so well...

Made me smile to remember! Fun ... and cheaper to snap the picture than to buy (that's my kind of collecting!)

What a sweet post! Did you know the actors Roseann Arquette and her brother David are grandchildren of Charlie Weaver? I remember watching him on Holly Squares as a kid! Hugs Anne
