Vintage Children Books #3

Today on Coloradolady's Vintage Thingies Thursday another selection of vintage children's books. I have found in glancing through some of them, they are great little books.  Not so much like the newer ones.

This is a vintage  Wonder Book.  It is a story of a little puppy that would not mind his mother and all the things he go into. Note each book is from  the 1940's the frame.

This little Golden book is about an independent little kitten that wondered off from her family.  She finds a mole and they become  friends and this is their story.

I am not quite from the 1940s but I remember those books!
I wonder if they were favorite stories from my mother or aunt and they wanted to share them with us, as I saved my favorite books to share with my kids and my sister's kids.

So love the kitty book ... read it many times over. I do believe the older books are so much more fun & I love the artwork.

Have a great eve ~

Love the books! I used to collect them too, but when my son grew up I guess I "grew out if it"! I still have a few I couldn't part with!

OMG LV, I love the "Little Puppy who would not mind his Mother" book, that's adorable (my Dog Bender needs to read that book)! You're so lucky, I never find old childrens books in my area, mostly old text books and historical books. I love the whimsy of old Childrens books!

I think I remember the puppy and kitten ones, but not the owl.

I love old children's books because they bring back such lovely memories. These make me want to sit down for storytime. Such a lovely collection of Vintage books.

What sweet books. I think the older children's books are the best. They put so much more thought and time into the stories and illustrations then.

I read the Puppy and Kitten books to my son (29/28/27 years ago) and now to my Grandson (5 years ago) when they were 2, 3, 4,5 years old (yes I repeated reading the book once or twice each year). Same books too.

These are so precious! I love the look on that little puppy's face. He looks so ashamed for not listening to mama. Thanks for sharing these:-)

Hi LV, So glad you popped in today!
I love vintage children's books. The graphics are wonderful.
I didn't start using cast iron till about 10 years ago. Thought new was better, boy it cleans up just as well as the new fangle stuff. I have the pre-seasoned Lodge...Jim bought me a whole set...I'm too impatient to wait around to season the others. I do have a 6" that was my Grandma's..it's used almost every day.
