Blue Monday

Smiling Sally
A warm day with a little wind in Texas.  So nice!  It is even nicer at Sally's place

I have enjoyed some of the best ice cream ever made from a freezer like this. I have two sisters and one would add ice, one salt and most times I had to turn since I was the oldest.  That gets tiring, but  it was worth it.

Then we would all have a seat and enjoy.  However, we never had a blue table like this.

Ice cream made in a freezer like the one you showed is absolutely the best! And the freezer doesn't have to be blue for the ice cream to be delicious.

I don't think I've ever had ice cream like that

Hi La Voice,

Would you believe that when I was a girl, we had an ice cream maker EXACTLY like this one!

Thanks for playing today. Have a Happy Blue Monday!

We always put the ice cream freezer on the front porch, a big, thick quilt over the top and I always wanted to sit on top...:)

When I was a kid, we had an ice-cream freezer just like this. Except it was not this pretty blue, it was very ugly. We all took turns turning the handle. It was so much fun. Those memories of anticipation are maybe even better than the ice-cream.

What a cute little blue table. I used to enjoy making ice cream like that too. My siblings and I used to take turns turning the crank.

Hello my sweet friend. I saved you a piece of cake. LOL.

We made home made ice cream when we lived on the farm in MI. Our farm house was the place where my mom and 9 brothers and sisters grew up. My grandparents retired and my dad bought the dairy farm. Every Sunday that was a nice day my Aunts and Uncles would come over and they all took turns making home made ice cream. There were three old wooden freezers to turn because of such a big crowd. A great memory. We did not have a cute blue ice cream table either. LOL

Have a happy week.
Love,
Jeanne

There's nothing quite so yummy as homemade ice cream! My uncle and aunt used to make it when I was a little kid -- fortunately my uncle turned the crank!

I'm sure happy it's easier to make your own icecream nowadays. But it's in a lovely blue colour!

Ooooh! Homemade ice-cream?! Yumm...My parents used to make homemade vanilla ice-cream in a freezer rather similar to that (but smaller) when I was a small child.

That's a really ice cream maker - I love anything vintage :) Does it still work?
