Vintage Thingies Thursday

A cold and damp day on Vintage Thursday in Texas today. However, I am sure Coloradolady will have some warm and welcoming sights for us at http://coloradolady.blogspot.com.

This little girl and her doggie friends are from the Goebel group. One of many things I thought I needed back in younger times.  Not sure, but think I bought it at an estate sale back in 1982. She was originally molded in 1954 as shown below.

This is the marking on the bottom of the figurine.

Since I did not know exactly what I had purchased (just liked it), I wrote the Goebel Company for their opinion.  The above letter is their response.

I think this might be worth quite a bit of money now.

It's very pretty. I adore the two little poodles looking up at her.

Great find. I love shopping in the consignment and thrift stores. Haven't done much in this nasty cold weather but spring is on it's way and I will be making the rounds. Almost time for yard sales too.

That figurine is so sweet LV. If I ever came across something like that I would totally have bought it and gave it to my Grandmother. I am always buying her poodle and cat items for her china cabinet. *lol*

Hello LV, I adore your little girl and poodles figurine. I am a poodle person completely so I especially love your treasure today. The letter you shared is so interesting. I collect the Royal Doulton girls and they are good to give info about their figurines as well.

Thank you for your sweet comment about our grandson. He is a sweet young man and like your little great grandson that you love so much, we adore him.

My cold is gone and life is good. Smile. Wishing you sunny days.

Love, Jeanne

PS: I sure messed up my link today!!! I don't know what happened. Sigh!

Sweet Hummel. I went over to eBay and found myself perusing figurines and ended up putting some of them on a watch list. I think I may be doomed.
