Back In Time Vintage Thingie Thursday

Some very interesting vintage thingies are found each Thursday at http://coloradolady.blogspot.com.
It is a great place to take a brake and cool off if you are in Texas.

Back in the 1950's this was the marquee for Meadowbrook Drive-In.  It was a popular place to enjoy movies in the privacy of your car.  It would accommodate 500 to 700 cars. Its specialty was second run triple features.
Unfortunately, it closed in 1970.

In 1980, it became the marquee for Cowtown BMX bicycle track. That is why you see the bike mounted on top. It too has closed.

The screen is still visible even from I-30 East of Fort Worth. The marquee is only visible when riding on the bicycle trail that runs along where the screen is.  It is covered by trees and growth. My neighbor is an avid bicycle rider.  He knows and has been on most of the bicycle trails around here.  The photo of the marquee was made by him on one of his rides. All other photos are mine.

The area now is used by Waste Management for storage of dumpsters.

Outdoor Wednesday

Today let's all visit Susan and view the many Outdoor Wednesday sights.  Just click on over to http://asoutherndaydreamer.blogspot.com

Believe it or not, we recently had a good rain.  I was checking my flowers when I spotted this sight.  At first glance, I thought it looked like eggs.   However, it turned out to be mushrooms.
You never know what you will see when enjoying the outdoors.

Sky Watch Friday

We would not have the pleasure of seeing great, worldwide skies if Sylvia, Yogie and Sandy did not do such a great job. Each week they make it happen at http://skyley.blogspot.com.

I cannot take credit for this glorious, heavenly sight.  My neighbor does a super job at photography and shared this with me. (click to enlarge)

Vintage Thursday

Some of the best vintage's around can be found at http://coloradolady.blogspot.com. Coloradolady would be happy to have you drop by and check them out.

A very old restaurant menu. MY! how prices have changed. Just recently I paid $2.15 for a cup of coffee.  Nearly strangled, as did not notice it being that price.  I made sure I got refills drank the last drop.

A vintage vanity set that I saw in an antique mall.

Prayful Blue Monday

Smiling Sally
May each of the Blue Monday participates have a very blessed day.  Sally would like you drop in and say hello at http://smilingsally.blogspot.com

Eight year old's enjoying the rodeo life. This scene was taken behind chute just before riding their calves. They never fail to pray before any performance. One of these little guys is very special to me. I do not get to see him as much as I would like as they live too far away. They all come from good homes and I think that makes a big difference.
