Blue Monday

Smiling Sally
So nice to be spending Blue Monday with Sally and friends.  Nothing but the best of blues can be found at
http://smilingsally.blogspot.com

My blues may not be the best, but at least have a touch of blue.  Had to almost go to the bottom of the barrel for these shots.  Gotta go blue hunting soon.

Good Fences

Welcome TexWisGirl on your first "Good Fences" meme. This is a great opportunity to meet our gracious hostess and see some very interesting fences. Join her and friends at
 http://run-a-roundranch.blogspot.com

The right-of-way crew must have been too busy to clear this fence.

Sands of time cannot be fenced in.

Vintage Thingie Thursday

A lovely day to visit Coloradaylady at http://coloradolady.blogspot.com
If you like vintage finds, this is the place to go.
A vintage 33" Texaco gas station lighted pump sign. It is made of plastic.  A little research, it is definitely a collector's item.  It was priced, according to condition, from $175 up to $800.

Outdoor Wednesday

Seems spring has sprung at various locations. No doubt Susan and friends will share some great outdoor delights. For the best outdoor show ever, go to http://asoutherndaydreamer.blogspot.com.

In Texas, spring is on the way.  I could not believe it when I saw at least six robins in my back yard.  Tried to get a picture, but they heard me and flew off.  They are a definite sign we will be seeing some of these blooms again soon. All were taken last year.

Good morning to Sally and and all her Blue Monday participates. What a nice way to start the week. So many pretty and interesting blues when you visit http://smilingsally.blogspot.com

Not exactly sure what this bottle was used for, but being a bright blue was what caught my attention.

These are three sets of crochet in pink that I have inherited from different family estates. I have a very large assortment of others, that I use all over my house.

Vintage Thingie Thursday

Time passes weekly for Vintage Thingie Thursday, but other occasions takes a little longer. You will truly enjoy your visit with Coloradolady at
       http://coloradolady.blogspot.com.
Also, take the time to wish her an early Happy Birthday.  It is Friday, March 21, but you can enjoy them more than one day.

This does not represent a weekly event, but goes back 66 years.  This was when I graduated.  We had a football team named, The Atlanta Rabbits.
We had a nice band that went with the football team. This is a patch that was worn on our uniforms. I have two sisters and we all three played in the band.  One sister played the clarinet, one was a majorette, and I played a snare drum.

Acts of Kindness Tuesday With MeMe

Acts of Kindness

This is so very true.  It has happened to me  more times than one. Starting back in December, when I was eating out, someone paid for my meal.  I thought they were doing it as a Christmas gesture. However, this continued to happen on several future occasions.  I never once knew who was sharing these acts of kindness.

Recently experienced this blessing again. Had an early appointment and decided to wait until after the appointment to have breakfast.  A family came in after I did and sat in a booth opposite from me.  It was a couple with a teenage son. After they had been there awhile, the young man spoke to me and said I looked lonely alone. I informed him I had been alone a long time, but I still enjoyed each day and made the best of them.  He thought that was great.  We all proceeded with our meal. When I asked for my check, the waitress said it would be taken care of.  I looked over at the teenager and he was just a grinning.  I asked, "Did you do this?"  "Yes", was his response.  I was touched by all the other times, but this time was different. I knew who it was. We had a very emotional embrace right there in the restaurant.  I told his parents how blessed they were to have a son like this young man.  Not many teenagers would do that.  He had paid with his own money.

If you have not shared an act of kindness, you should.  It is amazing how good it makes you feel to give.

A random act of kindness - No strings attached.

It is a treat to be able to visit Smiling Sally each week.  It is always so interesting to see what she and friends have to share on Blue Monday. Lots of surprises await at http://smilingsally.blogspot.com

I cannot tell you the price on these "rare" dishes, as I was afraid to touch anything.

Pink Saturday

After stopping off to say hello to Beverly and her Pink Saturday friends, you can head out to the ball game. You will find the best pinks at http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog

Baseball season is getting into the swing for the little leagues as well as the professional fellows.

Reasonably sure, the only time you
might see a pink ball or bat, would
be on a girl's team.
