Vintage Cookbooks

On Colordolady http://coloradolday.blogspot.com, I am featuring some vintage cookbooks that have not been used in years. I let others do the cooking now. I enjoy all home cooked meals prepared by someone else.

This vintage cookbook was bought from the First Methodist Church in Texarkana, Ark. in 1955.

This was a very special cookbook to my mother. My son gave this to her as a Christmas gift in 1958.

This is a 1949 Crisco cookbook. I have kept it because it has personal notes from my mother to me in it.

The following book is not vintage. Included it as I thought some of you Paula Deen fans might be enjoy it.

This is a Paula Deen cookbook before she became the "PAULA DEEN" you know today. It belongs to my daughter-in-law that is an excellent cook. She had the privilege of meeting her when she was just starting her restaurants. She autographed one of first books for her.

REDnesday

This is the REDnesday that Sue http://suelovescherries.blogspot.com. created. Wonderful reds can be found here every Wednesday.

This is one of my needle points I did several years ago. Just the right touch of red in the flowers.
Notice the cute little red cherries on the note pads. This was part of a gift I received from a very special friend.

Things may not always happen for the best, but I do believe that it's possible to make the best of things that happen.

Blue Monday

Blue Monday is Sally's http://smilingsally.blogspot.com favorite day. It will be yours as well if you like blue.

I wish I could take credit for this awesome shot of this Mountain Bluebird. I saw it on the internet and could not resist sharing it with you.

This blue pot of flowers is one of my original captures.

It is not doing the things we like to do but liking the things we have to do that makes life blessed.

NOTE:
I will be late visiting your post today and returning comments. When you read this, I will be out of town until Tuesday night. See you then.

Vintage Dust Catchers No. 2

Blue Monday

No bluebird for Blue Monday with Sally at http://smilingsally.blogspot.com. Just the remains of the bird's blue egg.

This little egg stayed all together when it fell out of the nest.

I placed it on this little branch for a different shot.

These two photos are of another one. It actually fell onto this little leaf and stayed there. It was cracked, which made it stick and stay better.

I do not know why they fell out. Perhaps another bird attacked the nest. I never saw a bird - mother or baby.

Pink Saturday

In your spare time, be sure to drop by Pink Saturday with Beverly at http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog. Each week seems to get better. I never realized there was so much pink around until I started participating in Pink Saturday.

Lucy and her side-kick Vivian just left the beauty shop. The shock was just too much. To avoid embarrassment, they covered their heads and headed for the restaurant.

Sometimes the old fashion dryers do not work very well.

There is nothing old fashion about my friend for this week. She is none other than ten(10) year old Naomi and her Sweet Life. She is a delightful young lady and will put a smile on your face. It is refreshing to see and learn what the younger generation has to share. Not too many her age that I know has a blog. Thank you Naomi for being my friend. Drop by and visit with her at http://naomi-sweetlife.blogspot.com.
