Sky Watch Friday

Happy to be joining all the great participates this week showing off the skies wherever they may be. For your viewing pleasure, drop by
http://skyley.blogspot.com for a sky studded display.

Looking through the trees as they clouds go drifting by.

This is definitely not the highway to heaven. In rush hour, it is more like the highway to that other place. At least, we have pretty blue skies most of the time surrounding I-30 in Fort Worth, Texas

Hummel Vintage Thursday

Have you visited
http://coloradolady.blogspot.com
lately?  If not, you have really been missing
out on some of the best vintage finds ever. Coloradolady invites you to stop by and say hello.

The year 1935 marked the debut of "M.I. Hummel" figurines.  The trademark in use at the time was the "1923 Wide Crown WG. This trademark was the first ever used on an "Hummel" figurine.  Figurines bearing the above trademark were manufactured
between 1935 and 1937. I am fortunate enough to own two of these little jewels.
This is "Hum 63, "Singing Lesson. If you notice he bears the 1935 trademark.

This is "Chick Girl" Hum 57.  There have been other variations of her made, but this one is from the 1935 series.

I have several Hummels I will be sharing in future posts. However, these two are my most vintage.

Outdoor Wednesday

Outdoor Wednesday is brought to us each week by Susan at http//asoutherndaydreamer.blogspot.com

I  am offering you three different ways this week to spend outdoors.

Tuesday With MeMe

Senior Moments

Create in me a happy heart,
preserve my memory safe and sound.
May all my aches and pains be little ones,
and let the things I lose be found.
Send me, I pray, my daily smiles,
a serving of prunes and bran.
Help me accept my graying hair,
and keep the most of it I can.
Remind me to forgive myself
when senior moments come along.
Provide a time for exercise so
these old bones stay fit and strong.
Lord, keep my attitude upbeat and
free from worry, cares, and fears.
Each day, help me appreciate the
gift and goodness of my years.
Amen

Blue Monday

Smiling Sally
Smiling Sally appreciates you taking the time each week to drop by for a visit and share your blues. She is very gracious hostess that visits and comments on all the participants. Not many others do that. Drop by http://smilingsallyblogspot.com for a nice blue visit.

This is a lovely wreath made from big, wide blue ribbons.

If my memory serves me right, I think this is big set of canisters and spice containers.

Pink Saturday

Sorry, I did not visit or comment last week. I have have been slowed down for a few weeks, but getting back into the groove. However, have not had a chance to find many interesting pinks, but things will improve.  Beverly at
and friends will definitely have some great Pinks to share.

Spotted this pink dresser in an antique mall awhile back. I am sure it was some kind of nice wood that has been painted.

Saw this pink rose shade on a lamp that would have looked nicely on the dresser. However, it was not in the same booth.

Vintage Thingies Thursday

A cold and damp day on Vintage Thursday in Texas today. However, I am sure Coloradolady will have some warm and welcoming sights for us at http://coloradolady.blogspot.com.

This little girl and her doggie friends are from the Goebel group. One of many things I thought I needed back in younger times.  Not sure, but think I bought it at an estate sale back in 1982. She was originally molded in 1954 as shown below.

This is the marking on the bottom of the figurine.

Since I did not know exactly what I had purchased (just liked it), I wrote the Goebel Company for their opinion.  The above letter is their response.

Outdoor Wednesday

Susan, A Southern Day Dreamer, has one of the best outdoor shows ever each week.                        Check:
http://asoutherndaydreamer.blogspot.com  for some very interesting sights.

Three different ways for you to spend an Outdoor Wednesday.

Tuesday With MeMe

Each morning God gives us a rose.  Some of us will spend the day complaining about the thorns.

Sometimes we all need to step outside our normal element and do something different. Try it and have a grand old time.

It does not feel good when you realize you pay more for a postage stamp today than it used to cost to see a matinee movie.

Blue Monday

Smiling SallyTrust each of you are starting your week off with a great Blue Monday with Sally and friends. Check all the participates at http://smilingsally.blogspot.com

A variety of petty cobalt blue glassware in an antique mall I visited. I go often to these malls and enjoy looking. Rarely buy anything as I have more than I need now.

 Some pretty blue candle holders.
