Vintage Thingies Thursday

Another great day to share time with Coloradolady and her Vintage Thingies Thursday. Please take time out and give her a visit.

This is a very vintage bear that belongs to my sister. She was given this bear by our parents when she was a little girl. This was back in the mid 1930s. She has kept it sealed up in this jar to help preserve it. I do not know the maker of the bear. It held a special meaning to her and has resulted in her collecting and loving bears. All the following pictures were taken in what she calls her bear room.

I never saw a bear in a jar before!

I went through a Teddy Bear phase when Teddy bears were popular in the 1980s. I collected a lot of Teddy Bear postcards, but not real Teddy bears.

That's an interesting concept, I'd be afraid that he'd 'rot' in there.
She loves TBs tho.

Popover for our TRIPLE GIVEAWAY if you haven't already. Have a lovely eve. TTFN ~Marydon

Wow----someone REALLY likes BEARS!!!! What a cute collection. It reminds me of a cabin we once rented --with a bear theme. That one had bears all over the place also...

Cute post, LV.

How special to have a childhood treasure from so long ago. It speaks to a time when "less was more" and truly treasured.

I can see why this room is called the bear room! I wish she would let the bear in the jar have some fresh air.

All the teddy are cute, but not the one in Jar. I just feel suffocate when seeing it. How he can breath?

I love her little old teddy-in-a-jar and the entire bear room!

How sweet that she has kept that bear all these years. He's a sweet-looking little thing.

I really like those lace curtains with the bear design in them. Unique!

I love teddy bears and collected them but this beats me even in when I was at my peak with them. I recognized quite a few.

I LOVE the bear room. Especially the one in the jar that started her fun collection. The whole room is just too cute. I know many people that have bear collections. They are just irresistible.

Have a wonderful evening.

Isn't it funny how one little childhood toy is responsible for her love of bears?
The post made me think about how very important it is for children to have toys. Who knows what impression they may make? Here's hoping every little child has a special toy under the tree this year.:)

The bears are cute especially the quilt on the bed but I truly love the jar itself! I have a thing for containers of all kinds. LOL
