I do not have a cell phone, but have nothing against them most of the time. It is annoying when someone is talking so loud. I am not interested in other people's conversations. They are good to have for any number of reasons, I just chose not to have one. I am sharing the following with you that I thought said it all. You never know what the person that is hearing your conversation may do.
After a very busy day, a lady settled down in her seat on a train and closed her eyes. As the train rolled out of the station, the guy sitting next to her pulled out his cell phone and started talking in a loud voice."Hi sweetheart. It's Eric. I am on the train. Yes, I now it's the six thirty and not the four thirty but I had a long meeting ....no, honey, not with that floozie from the accounts offfice...with the boss.
No sweetheart, you are the only one in my life---yes, I am sure, cross my heart".
Fifteen minutes later, he was still talking loudly, when the young woman sitting next to him, who was obviously angered by his continuous diatribe, yelled at the top of her voice.
"Hey, Eric, turn that stupid phone off and come back to bed!" Eric does not us his cell phone in public anymore.
A lesson learned the hard way.

Great post. It's amazing what people will say in public. I have a simple prepaid cell phone for emergencies only. It's enough for me.
I have a cellphone but I don't use it very often especially not in public places. It's also not a smartphone.
I miss the old home phones as the sound quality was much better, but at least cell phones can be used anywhere just in case you need to REALLY call someone for help.
I never talk on my cel phone, I just text or wasapp my daughters and friends!
My mom was just 84 too, (and has a cel phone) and looks as great as you, except she doesn't use a computer, lol!

I have a cell phone but rarely use it. Its one of those flip phones that nobody carries anymore and i don't use it in public if i don't have to. I never personally thanked you for my Christmas swap presents. You're such a dear! I loved everything you sent and really appreciate the time you took to make it so special. I'm following you now and will drop in from time to time to catch up with you. Happy new year!
Lol !
That will teach him....
I have very little tolerance for people who carry ion their everyday conversations while all around are forced to listen in.
Maybe more of us should use this response ;)
