On Colordolady http://coloradolday.blogspot.com, I am featuring some vintage cookbooks that have not been used in years. I let others do the cooking now. I enjoy all home cooked meals prepared by someone else.
This vintage cookbook was bought from the First Methodist Church in Texarkana, Ark. in 1955.
This was a very special cookbook to my mother. My son gave this to her as a Christmas gift in 1958.
This is a 1949 Crisco cookbook. I have kept it because it has personal notes from my mother to me in it.
The following book is not vintage. Included it as I thought some of you Paula Deen fans might be enjoy it.
This is a Paula Deen cookbook before she became the "PAULA DEEN" you know today. It belongs to my daughter-in-law that is an excellent cook. She had the privilege of meeting her when she was just starting her restaurants. She autographed one of first books for her.

This is quite a collection of vintage cookbooks. I also enjoy home cooked meals prepared by someone else. They always taste better than something I might make myself!

Love your collection.... Who would have thought that Paula Deen would be so popular today???
Very nice collection. I have a bunch of them also. Paula Deen is one of my favorites too. Have all her cookbooks. Someone gives me one every year. Great post.

Those are great vintage cookbooks! How neat to have a Paula Deen cookbook before she became famous!
I never thought about posting my old cookbooks. This was a great idea. I can really relate to them. I wish I had someone to cook for me...that would be heaven on earth in my book.

A great collection, and I love the fact that your mom left you notes in it! What a sweet treasure!
Vintage cookbooks are the best. Church cooks are my all-time favorites. Those ladies really know what they're doing.
These kind of cookbooks are the best, the one's that have been tried, loved and written on. It's great that your Mom did some of the writing. I have some vintage ones that have become our families favorites.

A terrific collection, I love the one with the notes from your mother; such an amazing keepsake.
I love those church cookbooks! They have the BEST recipes in them!!
Hi! Thanks for stopping my blog to see my little "charming farm" cloche :) I have a small collection of these vintage cookbooks, too - I purchased a few, and also have several that have been in the family a long time. In fact, I think I *have* that one called "New Recipes for Good Eating" - the cover looks familiar! I love the older graphics in them, and have tried quite a few of the recipes as well.
