Pink Saturday

Another beautiful day of pinks. Please drop by Beverly's How Sweet The Sound place for a nice Pink Saturday with her. She is a most gracious hostess and someone you will enjoy visiting.

Recent showers have brought me a blessing of flowers. This rose bush has been truly beautiful lately. It was hard to really capture their actual size and color.

This is a late blooming mum in a nice shade of pink.

Vintage Thingies Thursday

There may be a few taking a minute to share Vintage Thingies Thursday with Coloradolady. If so, trust you are enjoying a bountiful turkey meal. May today be a gift you will always remember.

This an old 1950 Betty Crocker cookbook that was given to me as a gift back then. It has served me well over the years.

Since this is turkey day, sharing from this book their method of getting the old bird ready for roasting.

Various recipes for dressing or stuffing as some people call it. However, it is hard to beat the old fashion method.

Outdoor Wednesday

Susan, A Southern Daydreamer, is hosting the last Outdoor Wednesday before the special Thanksgiving day. Enjoy your day with her and your family.

Even nature knew it was time for Thanksgiving colors as these trees reflect.

Even the pretty orange butterfly came to share this occasions with us.

On the eve of Thanksgiving, have you ever tried to list from A-to-Z all the things you are thankful for? It is not as easy as you might think. This week at my great grandson's school, the teacher ask them to list seven things they were thankful for. He is five, and this was his list:
1. Mama
2. Daddy
3. God
4. MEME (that's me)
5. Bible
6. Swing
7. Lightsaber

This really, really touched my old heart when he put me in fourth place on his list. We need material things to survive, but there is nothing like the love of a child. I am very blessed and so thankful. May your Thanksgiving day be sunny and bright, and filled with many wonderful blessings.

An Award From Sweden

I am blessed with many friends from Sweden. One of them, "Petit Eyekiss" at htpp://petiteyekiss.blogspot.com/ honored me with this award. I am very pleased to receive this award. I have just recently passed this on and made the list. However, I will add you to my sidebar to reflect your giving me the nice award. Thank you and keep up the good work. You are doing very well with your blogging English.

TO ALL MY BLOGGING FRIENDS:

Hope your day is filled with things that mean the most to you.

Sky Watch Friday

You could travel the world over, but doubt you would see all the beauty shown on Sky Watch Friday.

The sun in the rising mode. An old saying, red in the morning sailors take warning.

The sun starting its descent for the day.

Red at night, sailor's delight.

Vintage Thingies Thursday

Time really is passing much too fast. Seems I just published Vintage Thingies Thursday with Coloradolady, and here it is again.

This metal sign was painted back in the late 50s or early 60s. My brother-in-law's father was a sign painter. This is a sign that he painted for the gate into Graceland. Later on the this sign needed replacing. The fans were writing all over it, scratching it, and the weather was not helping. When it was replaced, they gave my brother-in-law's father the sign back. Only difference, Elvis signed the back for him. The following is the signature that is on the back of this sign. I could not get it too well, is why I am showing more than one shot.

I recently had the privilege of visiting in the home of a lady that worked at Graceland for 15 years. She worked there from 1987 to 1992. Elvis passed away in 1977. Therefore, she did not work during his lifetime. The following nicely framed, original pictures of Elvis hang in her home. She has an "Elvis room". She had too many different things for me to share with you. She has several hand written, personal notes from Priscilla as well as pictures taken with her. When she was working there Priscilla was her boss. This lady was in charge of the tour guide operation as well all the security for Graceland. When she retired in 1992, they gave her some of the many things she treasures. She has very special memories of Elvis's family and history.

Most people walk in and out of your life --- but, FRIENDS leave footprints in your heart.

Outdoor Wednesday

Take your time when visiting Outdoor Wednesday with Susan, A Southern Daydreamer. Everyone has so many wonderful outdoor scenes to share, you might miss something if you rush.

Throughout the city and metropolitan areas, the city has installed red-light cameras at various intersections. We have had some cameras monitoring red lights since 2007. However, now they are just about everywhere. Drivers are issued a $75 ticket for an alleged violation.

All red-lights do not have the same type camera. This is one style that is used.

This shows two cameras at this location.
This red-light has only one camera.
Even the birds are waiting for the green-light to avoid the camera.
