Treasures from 1950

I recently was involved in a situation that made me realize I needed to clean out and rearrange my cabinets.  In doing so, the following vintage items were found hiding in the back of the cabinets.  Each of them belonged to my mother. Check out many interesting vintage thingies at http://coloradolady.blogspot.com.

A vintage "All In One" flat metal cheese grater or shredder.  The name ALL IN ONE" is stamped on the back with Pat. Pend making it one of the older models.

A metal primitive rustic star strainer colander from the 50's.

A well used vintage "Foley" aluminum hand held juicer.  It is also from the 50's. On the back it is stamped Minn MPLS, Pat Pending..

A vintage butcher knife from the 50's as well.  It is an old Case XX with a ten inch blade of carbon steel and wooden handle. Even today, when I have a need for a good knife, this is the one I use.

REDnesday

Cherry World 1

What a pleasure it is each week to join Sue and her "Very Cherry World" of friends for the sharing of reds. If you stop by http://suelovescherries.blogspot.com, you will be glad you did.

That big red "T" could stand for a lot of things.  However, just for today, it is for TEXAS.

Where I live, have  not seen hummingbirds.  It has been so terribly hot, they decided not to stop in Texas. These were found in Colorado a few years ago.  Plenty of them around there.

One Fine Blessing

Celebrating Senior Birthdays
Should you know a senior having a birthday in the future, Coloradolady (http://coloradolady.blogspot.com}complies a list and sends it to those interested in sending seniors birthday cards. You may include a $1 as well if you like. I dearly love sending and receiving cards so I make sure to honor those listed.

As a result of one of the cards I sent,  I received this lovely card from Mildred L. Hendrix, Tom Bean, Texas. I immediately typed her a letter with the August names.  What a kind and caring lady she must be to pass her blessings to others.  She was very generous in the card she sent me. She does not have a blog. Perhaps the person that submitted her name does and will let her know that I shared her thoughtfulness with you.

I would like to take this time to say THANKS SO MUCH for all the cards and comments I received for my birthday. I truly appreciate each one. Birthdays and friends are a blessing to me.

Vintage Thingies Thursday

Coloradolady invites you to join her at http://coloradolady.blogspot.com for a grand tour of some the most interesting vintage finds ever.

How long has it been since you have seen these stamps? We used to save them, and could hardly wait until we filled the book.and buy something.

This is definitely a vintage lamp.  In fact, it goes so far back I do not recall which family member was the original owner.  This type light was all we had.  I did all my school work and reading by one. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect to have one at this point in my life.  Trust the next generation will appreciate it.

Pink Saturday

Taking a trip to see Beverly at http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/myweblog. She has so many Pink Saturday participates featuring the best of pink wares.

I was going to buy this and travel the highways in pink style, but it was just a tad too small.

There are a few lovely flowers still around while traveling the countryside.

I have not had a lot of time to go visiting around the blog world lately.  However, I found Laura while entering my post on a certain meme.  She is a lady of many talents. One thing that makes her standout, she lives in Texas same as I do. Drop by and visit with her http://sahmiam-laura.blogspot.com. You will be glad you did.

Vintage Thingies Thursday

It is Vintage Thingies Thursday again.  Please join me for some of the best vintages with Coloradolady at http://coloradolady.blogspot.com

I am not sure if this is vintage coffee or tea set.  Needless to say, I found it very unique and interesting. Some of the things I share, such as this, are not mine nor do I buy them.  Enjoy looking and sharing my finds.

These are two pieces I fell heir to due to my sister downsizing and moving.  This is a vintage Moon and Stars ruby red glass, covered candy dish.

This is matching tooth pick holder.

Just a tiny red bear.  You can see how small it is in comparison to the cup.

A small candle glows in what is left of this red candle.
