REDnesday

Cherry World 1

Trust it is cool wherever you are visiting REDnesday with Sue and friends. Take a break, have  a refreshing "Sue Loves Cherries" drink, and enjoy the show. Your seat is reserved at http://suelovescherries.blogspot.com or her image.

How many of you have seen a sign like this?  You do not see them much anymore.

About all I have left of my pretty roses.  Mother nature's heat has taken a toll on everything in Texas. You would think it is fall of the year.  The leaves on our trees are dying, falling off and blowing all over the yard.

Oh boy. I know that sign and can't think of the brand...I think it's from an oil company. Gasoline. Hum. :) Pretty rose! I need to join this party!

I've seen the sign before, but can't name it. I am having to pull out petunias in some of my pots that are dried up. I've never had that happen before and was blaming it on fertilizing them. Maybe they are just as wilted as I am. Hot here on the plains of eastern Colorado for another week.♥♫

I remember Flying A from when I was a child, our neighborhood station was one. I even found some old maps from Flying A stations in my parents things. I don't know why but since it relates to childhood days, there's something sweet about it.

I'm so sorry about your lovely roses LV! We're all tuckered out and droopy from the heat this year.

Happy Rednesday!

Hi LV! :) My senior mom and I can so relate to the gardening activities woes! She has less than half of what she planted as well! And while I can't remember what it went for, I DO remember that flying horse. Gas station???? :) Have a blessed and beautiful week!

Hello life.
I saw your first blog a few days ago - I can not see that I can add me as follows, but have put your blog address on my blog list so I can always find you.

Beautiful rose - have you had droughts where you live?
We've had a very wet and cold summer here in NSW (Denmark), so everything is green and lush here.
Wishing you a good day.

Isn't it funny how we see a trademark for years and then trying to identify the name just seems to fade! My first thought was Texaco...but, don't they have a star? I must be having a senior moment!
What a great pop of RED on this Happy Rednesday!
Smiles,
Carolynn

LV, Thank you for stopping by my blog...doesn't that ice cream look good though?! If you can believe this, it came from a gas station, of all places, in Sandpoint, Idaho! I'm enjoying your blog, too...
Have a blessed day!

I pass a house on my way to and from work every day that has two of these signs on it. They remind me of my childhood neighborhood filling station.
My roses also have taken a beating with heat, but the peppers are loving the heat.

Aw geez, I'm wrong and I thought for sure I was right since Flying A had wings too.

The hubby tells me it's Mobil's logo.

You stumped us LV! :)

So many are experiencing hot summer days. We have family in Kansas and Iowa and they are cooking in the heat!
Today was in the 90s and I did some canning. Stay well; I always enjoy hearing from you.

Looks like it has been used for target practice too. No flying horses around here but we had an old rocket gasoline sign for a long time. It's gone now. Disappeared. I hope someone took it down to restore it.
