Pink Saturday/First,Fifth,Forever

I have never done different features on any of my post. However today. I am going to share two post for your enjoyment.

One is Pink Saturday with Beverly at http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog.

I am not real sure what this is supposed to be. I think it is some type lamp. I saw it in an antique mall. Thought it was pretty and perfect for Pink Saturday.

This is a new post that Coloradolady has created for writing letters or sending cards that might make a difference in someone's life. It is called First, Fifth, Forever. Take time to stop by and share some of your great stories with her. Check it out at The Coloradolady.

I did not write a letter to anyone these past few days. However, I did send a thank you card.

THANK YOU is a lovely way to express gratitude to someone in a personal way. It is not practiced nearly enough.

Taking time to sit down and compose a note to express thanks is still a sign of good manners. No one is too busy to write a few lines on a card and drop in the mail. After all, someone found the time to go out and shop for you. You should always thank the gift giver, no matter how grandiose or seemingly insignificant the gift.

This is the thank you card I sent this week to a total stranger.

I met this person in a doctor's waiting room. Different ones were discussing things in their lives. This person was big into photography. They very kindly and generously sent me one of their photographs. I appreciate it so much that they would do something like this. Never saw them before and probably never will again.

pretty pink, indeed.

Amazing pinks and that little(BIG) lamp would make a great planter for a very victorian little fern.
I love your story about the doctor's office gab, and the photos you got were wonderful- and you didn't send a thank you card to a stranger- he's a new friend. And you will see them again in Heaven if no where else here on earth. And you will sit around again and someone will say, "Do you remember the time we were all waiting..." and it will be so much fun.

Happy PS!
Hugs- Tete

The pink flowers are so pretty!! Oh, I wish I could go to that antique mall! Everything you post from there is just divine!!! I would love to own this, too. I think it's a lamp. I bet the man you thanked was the bluebonnet man. That was such an amazing picture! It's too bad that handwritten thank you notes are becoming a thing of the past because of computers. Nothing replaces a personal note sent in the real old fashioned mail.

I love that pink lamp, I really don't think it look great in my arts and crafts decorated house--but it is lovely.
I really do need to use the pen and send notes. I was just thinking of someone I need to write today.

I love to send cards and receive them too. My mil is 87 and not online so I try to write her about every other week or so. I know she appreciates getting mail as she always call to say how much she appreciates me. Love that pink too.

I like your thoughts on 'Thank you' were very appropriate and very wise. I like the card you sent to your new friend from the doctor's office. I also like your beautiful pink flowers.

Oh goodness, LV the roses are beautiful! I can't wait to see mine bloom this year, I have been missing them so much. Your antique find (Lamp?) is gorgeous and I have to say it doesn't matter what it is because it's so lovely to look at, for that reason alone I would buy it, the crystal drops are fabulous.

How sweet it is to hear of such kindness from a stranger, a hand written heart felt "thank you" is just as much an equal kindness..

Hugs and many blessings'

LV, that's the cute man whom I want you to marry! ;-) Stop talking about him like you will never see him, okay? I'm just pulling your leg, but I think what he did was sweet and what you did was gracious. But you are like that.

Do you know I've had computer issues all night, and now that I'm on your post, I haven't had them? Isn't that something?

I have two keys that continue to stick, but they seem to be alright for the moment. But when they start sticking, it's maddening.

Just dropping by to wish you a Happy Pink Saturday.

XO,

Sheila :-)

Happy Pinks, LV! The pink lamp is very cute and I couldn't agree more about the sending of cards! I have always sent cards and I will continue to do so. I am blessed each time I receive one and so I like to think that the person to whom I am sending a card will feel the same way. Wonderful post. Have a wonderful weekend.

Blessings,
Sandi

Great post! I'm amazed at how younger people do not see the importance of sending thank you cards. I've been trying to drill it into my kids' heads b/c I think it's the polite thing to do. I really enjoy sending little notes of encouragement too. The difference one card can make in a person's life is awesome.

Happy Pink Saturday LV Sweetie...
It is always such a pleasure to come over and see what you have been up to. Love the pink rose bush. Does she not say "BEAUTIFUL"? So pretty.

Love the lamp. Those crystals are so pretty, and the design around the base is so beautiful. I love it. I am so tickled you share it with me today.

Now how lovely for the person in the Dr.s office to share a photo, and it was even more lovely for you to send a Thank You card. You know I think people have forgotten what Thank You cards are. Can you believe it?

Hope you have a gorgeous weekend sweetie. I think of you often. Many hugs and so much love, Sherry
