Rare Momment Tuesday With MeMe

NOT A SCENE YOU SEE EVERY DAY

Most of you know once in awhile I have to show off my great grandson, Layton.  Normally, it is on Blue Monday as blue is his favorite color.  However, today is a special capture.  This was taken by his mother on her phone.  The evening sun was shining through the shutters and makes the picture not as clear.

The pups name is Henry,  French Bull Dog, and very expensive breed. Henry belongs to the neighbors across the street. He does not like being fenced in.  He finds ways very often to get out and roam the neighborhood.  He never fails to drop by and visit Layton.  They have become big buddies and bonded very well.  His owner is often out of town on business and they leave Henry with Layton's family. The owner has another the same breed except it is white.  She is not as active or friendly as Henry.

Here is Layton and Henry playing chess.  Notice how he has his paws on the board and making eye contact with Layton. He wants to make sure the right move is being made. This was not staged.  He did it on his own.

Another special occasion for Layton. It is dove season in Texas.  He loves the outdoor activities.  He got his own gun for Christmas. This was the first opportunity he had to go hunting.  He got his dove on the first shot. He may be young, but believe me he is very cautious with his gun and how to use it.  Knows more about them than some grown folks.

Since we lived in a urban area, my mother would never dare to give us a real gun when we were kids.

My brother did get a pellet gun (and some upgraded models later), and he was quite good at it.

The most memorable thing I remember was him shooting at a bird that (unluckily for it) fell into our yard after he got him. He basically spent 20 minutes putting more pellets into the bird.

If I was an adult seeing any (eventual) child of mine or one of my nephews doing that, they would be in some trouble because that was just pain and torture to that poor bird.

Hi LV, I adore the photos of Layton and his friend the cute pup playing chess. I know you must be proud of your little guy shooting so well and getting his first dove. Our grands can give us so much pleasure. How blessed you are to have such a special little great grandson.

The colors my grands are wearing are their college school colors... Orange and Blue. Smile.

I have been very busy taking care of my sister and her recovery is doing well. It is late and I better say goodnight my dear friend.
Love, Jeanne
