Coloradolady is the quilt maker. I just look, drool and then buy. I have several vintage and new. I use most of mine like a bed spread. I have one or two I sleep under, but not many. For many more fascinating vintage things, go to http://coloradolady.blogspot.com.

A preview of a few of my vintage quilts.

These are all hand pieced and hand quilted.

My Day - - My Way

No fancy cake or fanfare, just a quiet, peaceful day spent with Coloradolady and friends. If we had cake, it would turn out like this. For more Vintage Things of interest go to http//coloradolady.blogspot.com.

Internet images.
On August 25, 1929, 82 years ago, a baby girl was born to Vernon and Thelma Kirkland. She was delivered at home in a little place called Leary, Texas.

These two photos were made November, 1929. The back ground in one shot shows where we lived then. The backside of nowhere.
My parents and we three girls. Notice our dresses. All made from flour/feed sacks.
Another shot of us later in life.
These are my early school days during 1930-40. Note those hair styles.

I graduated in 1948 from The Atlanta, Texas high school.
An early photo of my husband, Noah and I.
Later, this precious child, which was the love of our life, appeared. Our son, Terry.

As time went on, our family changed. Our son,Terry, grew up and our granddaughter, Carie joined us.
Just a sitting and grinning in a field of yellow.

2011 - A blessing and pleasure, my great grandson, Layton.

I am always happy to have a birthday.

Blue Monday

Another week has gone by which made it possible for Smiling Sally to be back home. To find how well she is doing, go to http://smilingsally.blogspot.com. Blue Monday has been rolling right along since her illness. However, there is an empty spot that no one can fill but Sally. Take care.

Trust me, you never get too old to learn something new. I needed some windshield washer fluid. When I went to pay, the cashier stated I do believe you are of age. I did not understand her comment. She informed me you had to be over 18 to purchase for some reason. I forgot what she said as I was so surprised.
