Vintage Thingies Thursday

Thursday is a very special day. Coloradolady at http://coloradolady.blogspot.com puts on one of the best vintage shows you will ever see. Take a minute and drop by to see what all the participates have to share.

This is a vintage milk pitcher I was fortunate to get from my late sister-in-laws estate.

It is ivory trimmed in 22 carat gold. Made by Universal Cambridge probably in the 40's or 50's.

On a close look you see the "age" lines on it. It has been used often.

A bowl from this same company. If you look close, you can see the use signs.

When I saw this post I checked a little pitcher that I use to water my plants. It is univeral Cambridge and has the delicate pink flowers on it exactly like your bowl.

Great pieces! The pitcher is gorgeous. I love that it is ovenproof - like you'll put the pitcher in the oven?

I love the pitcher!! Actully, those age lines look like the ones that some people put there on purpopse, to make something new look older! So that adds value and character!

Hi LV,

Your milk pitcher is so pretty ... and with real gold too. It is nice that you have it to remember your sister-in-law by. You know the funny thing? I have those two same bowls on my living room hutch, bottom shelf! They came from my husband's Grandma Pearl. Wow.

God bless,

Kathy

Oh, I love both of these! I think that bowl matches some china I have. Beautiful. If you get tired of looking at them, I know where they'd have a good home! Happy VTT!

Hi LV, I goofed? No surprise, I fell asleep with my computer on my lap trying to link to Suzanne's VTT. Laughing. I will have to thank her for fixing it for me.

I love the treasures you shared today. I have some pieces like yours but a different pattern. Mine have the lines too. I use them all the time. Yours are prettier than mine. Smile.
Thanks for you visit, I always love to hear from you.
Hugs, Jeanne

My great grandmother had dishes like these. I remember them from my childhood. My grandmother let us drink coffee-with lots of milk out of the cups.

I think I have a bowl somewhere in the same design as your pitcher. It was Mr. Sweet's mother's.
I love that bowl, too.

That is a gorgeous pitcher! Love the pattern on it and I love the crackled appearance that comes with age.
The rose bowl is lovely. You know me, I love those roses! I love the signs of use because I feel it gives a piece character and history.
