The two following coffee percolators are very vintage. My parent used these.
This one was used after we got electricity.
This was before electricity. You just set the pot on the burner. It really would make good, hot coffee.
Look what a little imagination and time can turn nothing into something neat.

These are so neat! I love how you saved your parent's things. I have one from the 1920's that I bought at an antique store - it's knob is green depression glass.
Wonderful, I long for a coffee pot that lets me know the coffee is ready by bubbling up into the little glass knob!
The first one looks very elegant on the lace.
These are great keepsakes! My grandmother always had coffee perking on the stove after dinner. Fantastic memories. Happy New Year to you and your family!!

I know I'm supposed to look at the coffee percolators,but my eyes were drawn to the tablecloth.I love the pineapple pattern.The painted percolator baskets are a neat idea.

My business and also blog's name is Back to Basics and in many ways we would be far better off to abandon a lot of things that never did bring happiness in the first place. Not all gadgets and things one 'wants' to have do create a better life for all involved.
A good book, a home cooked meal and being content is far better and healthier for spirit and body.

Love seeing your coffee pots! I still have my faberware percolator from when I got married yrs ago! I remember the other one on my grandparents stove!
Oh what memories I have of those old coffee pots. My Mom and Dad always had coffee in the mornings --and then Mom always drank ONE cup about 5 p.m. She said that it gave her energy for the rest of the night. Her pot was like the 2nd one you showed--and sat on our stove.
I had one that perked --but mine was electric.... OH --the memories. Love it... Thanks!!!

My grandmother had a coffee pot like the first one you showed. I can still remember waking up to the smell of coffee when we visited her. Thanks for the memories.

I'm not a coffee drinker but I remember the coffee makers my parents had. I think I even had one of those elegant ones years ago. We now have a lovely red coffee maker.
I loved my grandmother's old perculators! I have posted the one they use to use every day. It had a ceramic base with pink flowers, the innerds, as she called them, and then the ceramic top. You could take the innerds out and put the pot and lid together and serve from the table in a pretty little pot then.
I have the innerds in a box and just display the pot and lid.
Maybe it's time to get out the innerds and put it back together like it was, so it can collect dust, too!

The on-the-stove coffee pots are what my parents had years ago. I wish I could find one—don't think I've ever seen one in an antique or thrift shop. Those coffee pots last forever and can brew coffee now, just as they did then! How many electric ones have I bought over the years? Too many to count!
I love the old peculator coffee pots and have a glass one that sits on my stove top. If we feel up to a pot of coffee with dinner, the peculator is the one we use.
I love the old Drip-o-lator stovetop coffeepots. I keep one just in case the electricity goes out or we have a hurricane...sure came in handy after Katrina!

Boy! I sure remember those old things. They had a dozen parts to clean. I still smell coffee when I see a picture of one boiling up through the glass nob.
These are great! I remember my grandparents using them. I always liked to watch them percolate and see the coffee through the little glass knob at the top! Have a Happy New Year!
