Blue Monday

Smiling Sally

So thankful it is Monday and the rain is supposed to be moving out.  Fort Worth, Texas, where I live, the weather goes to the extremes.  One year we are in a terrible drought and this year being washed away.  It has rained here for days.  Roads and streets closed. Some pasture areas with pretty horses, looks like a river. They barely got the horses out. One thing far sure I am going to see Sally at
http://smilingsally.blogspot.com as I understand where she lives it is the sunshine state.

I have not been out of the house in two days.  Too cold and rainy to suit me.  Anyone venturing out would definitely need one of these and the raincoat as well.

Even your pets would have need protection.

I wish when I get up Monday morning, I would see such a welcome sight.

Good Fences

Today is a special day for Good Fences. THANKSGIVING is a time to reflect on what we have to be very thankful for. I am blessed in many ways, and trust you and family are as well.  Everyone has their "day", but no matter what the issues may be, TIME works wonders. I am thankful when you drop by my blog and leave a comment.  Even though it is a holiday, I am certain there will be good fences shared at

Outdoor Wednesday

Fall is truly a lovely time of the  year. Enjoy all the pretty colors. Also, it is deer season for the hunters.  Now I could never shoot one, but it is a big sport. Now let us drop in on Susan and see what is going on at

To me, this is a perfect fall sight.
Some of you know my great grandson as I feature him now and then.  This was his first buck deer.  It was a nine pointer. Needless to say, he was very excited.  He is great marksman even at 11. He dearly loves being in the woods.

Anything Goes Pink Saturday

Beverly is being very kind in allowing us to share things other than pink.  I still tend to try and find something as I know she loves it. When you visit her at http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog
never know what beautiful sights you will find.

I found this beauty on the Internet.

Deer season is open in a lot of different places.  In Texas, hunters are out dreaming of getting a large one.

Blue Monday

Smiling Sally

Sorry Sally, not an exciting blue sharing today.  However, there will definitely be some great ones at
http://smilingsally.blogspot.com

I try to visit my sister and her husband twice a year.  They have always been so fun. However, this one definitely turned out to be a nightmare.  My sister picked me up Thursday morning (10-29).  Everything was fine. We talked and laughed on the way home and even stopped for breakfast. Come Friday morning (10-30) she got up very sick, in severe pain. Bear in mind, I am not familiar with the area and have never driven a pickup. She got worse and wanted me to get her to to their primary doctor. Turns out they could not help her and had to have an ambulance take her to hospital in Memphis. Her husband has so many issues and cannot do somethings for himself. Had to leave him home alone and trusted he would be okay. Due to this nightmare, I was to return on Tuesday (11-3) but had to extend it until Saturday (11-7) until her daughter(who does not live there) could come and help me.  I could not be in two places at once. Her daughter stayed until she was dismissed (11-2). She works and could not get anymore time off then.  I stayed and tried to care for both until Saturday (11-7) when her daughter and husband came and took them home with them for awhile. Sadly, it has come to the point they are going to have to make decisions that we do not like to make. My sister is not well, but nothing life threatening.
