Vintage Crochet

Today I am featuring just a few of my vintage crochet with Coloradolady and her many other participates.

Bear in mind none of these were made by me. I wish I had known how when my eyes were better. All of these pieces were from various family estates. I am very fortunate to have been able to get them. I love crochet and all other handmade linens. I have way too many to share at one time. I am sorry, but I do not even know the names of the patterns for these. Will do another post later on.

Your collection is just lovely. We received many beautiful crocheted doilies as wedding gifts from my husband's grandmother and his great aunts. I wouldn't trade them for anything.

I love vintage crochet. I like all types but stick mainly to potholders for my collection.

Gorgeous crochet work, LV... My mother used to have a little of that ---but I don't know where it went, or what happened to it.

I hope you have some family members who will want some of your vintage goodies when you can no longer take good care of them..

Thanks for sharing.
Hugs,
Betsy

They are beautiful, I have two favorites the daisy doily and the black-eyed Suzy doily. I wish they were mine.

My childhood neighbor used to make doilies all the time. I used to help her starch them.

These are beautiful. My mom knits and crochets beautifully. I've been asking her for something new for my dining room for years but she took care of my dad during his Alzheimer's for so long and now she's just catching up on some much needed pampering. She deserves it.

Thank you for stopping by my little corner. Look forward to visiting.

I have loved crocheted doilies all my life. They are so pretty and make a house more comfortable looking.
I had a great aunt that even put them on her chairs and sofas to protect the arms and backs of the furniture. I don't do that but I still think it looks warm and kind of nicely old fashion to use them under a vase or table lamp.
These are all beautiful. I love the yellow and white one that looks like daisies. It's very sweet.

What a beautiful collection you have. My mom is 81 and i wish she would have a blog. She will go on the computer to look up recipes and things, but that is all. You do a wonderful job.

LV,

So beautiful but I am not gifted in the area to create such things of beauty. I love the women who can create them!

A girl after my heart. I love doilies. My mom spent countless hours crocheting and regrettably I don't have a single one of hers.

P.S. I see there's been some blog renovations going on. Looks good!

Just lovely patterns, Mimi - so pretty! That must have taken hours of hard work at the end of the day for someone to make such wonderful treasures! Thanks for sharing them!

Very nice crochet collection! Those are really delicate pieces.

Thanks for sharing :)

They are lovely, no matter who made them. I think it is neat how the top ones almost look like trays, with their raised ruffles! My grandmother used to make these, and because she did them all the time, she didn't really save many. It is a shame, isn't it?

Hi LV!
You lucky! Oh, I love each and every one of these. The blue one is so intriguing the way the leaves (?) are turned, love that.

Happy VTT,

Lovely crotchet doilies! I was wondering how the ladies got them to stand up so nicely. I know they used starch but can't imagine the time it took to iron. Or the burned fingers!

Beautiful crocheted doilies, My grandma used to crochet them. She would starch them so the ruffles would stand up.
