This is our second week with Coloradolady vacationing in Hollywood. CA. Trust you will enjoy the last sightseeing of the city. We will take a different tour next week.
Remember this was back in the early 40s. These little cards are not mailable. They are only 2-1/4x3-1/2 inches.

The Hollywood Bowl is very cool. How the sound works in these natural settings is amazing.

Love these old cards! They are lovely and really depict that "old Hollywood glamour".
Great little cards. Los Angeles was so beautiful and glamorous in those days.
What a great collection. Yes the old Hollywood look for sure.

I have never been to Hollywood. I am wondering if those things still look the same.
You'd never recognize Hollywood now, but the cards are fabulous.
Have a beau-TEA-ful day!

I love your old postcards. When I was a teen and off from school over the summer I loved to watch the old movies at night with starlets like Carole Lombard, Rosalind Russell and Ava Gardner. Those were the days.
More beautiful old postcards of the city, love them! Thanks so much for sharing the glamour of the city, Happy VTT!
These postcards are real keepsakes. Very "old hollywood".
I saw the Grauman's Chinese Theater when I was a child. It was beautiful.
What treasures these are.
Beautiful old cards, LV.... They just don't make them like that anymore... I've told you before but somewhere in my stash (from my mother) I have some old cards which are similar. I need to hunt for them sometime.
Hugs,
Betsy
These are real gems!! So glad you saved them. Happy VTT!
Love the old postcards! Hope you have a blessed week, Vicky
Those are fabulous old cards. You know what? They just built a new hospital in my city a couple years ago and I kept thinking it looked like it had been there for 50 years. Well, now that I see that CBS building, which looks like the new hospital, I know why! Everything old is new again, even architecture.
wow, like it,.. i love the photo's..
Those are neat retro images of Hollywood!
Wow, those are wonderful! I love the artwork on them and the trip back to that time of glamor!
I love these cards..specailly Graumans Chinese Theater and the Hollywood bowl. They're such tiny treasures.. Happy VTT..have a most wonderful weekend..
I like any vintage post cards. I would love to visit Hollywood-never been there. Happy VTT
Hi LV, Great to see old LA. and old HollyWood.
Beautiful cards! They really evoke the Old Hollywood with all its glamour!
RE: you comment on my blog.
How wonderful that you have your mother's cookbooks. My mom gave me her first cookbook from when she was a newlywed. I treasure it, plus it contains all my childhood comfort food recipes. It would be wonderful if you would share some of your mom's cookbook recipes (even some of your own, too) with the rest of us through Vintage Recipe Thursday. You wouldn't necessarily have to cook, you could just type out the recipes in your blog, and/or you could photograph them like CC and I did. I'm sure there are some real gems in your collection, and they shouldn't be forgotten or lost. You are warmly invited to join us. :-)
I have some very similar to those. Hmm have you been in my closet. LOL thanks for the comment. DE
LV,
Love all these vintage pictures captured from a Hollywood now long gone but definitely not forgotten.
Love and Hugs ~ Kat
I grew up in southern CA and these old cards remind me of my childhood :)
Blessings!

What great cards- And the graphics are really neat!
I love old cards, photos, books... I think it's fun to imagine being in the images you shared. I also like to imagine what it was like and who the people were like, when I drive around old neighborhoods, like around the squares of Old Savannah.
Blessings & Aloha!
(LV, you are such a sweet commenter! Thank you for always checking in and saying hello :o)
What interesting cards! I grew up in a suburb of Los Angeles in the 70's. It was already getting too crowded then. Must have really been beautiful in the 40's and 50's.
Hi LV!
I'm a Los Angeles native and just love these, thank you so much for sharing them!
And good gosh, did you take that tornado photo?! Please stay safe.
Happy VTT!
Sally
