Vintage Thingies Thursday

My Vintage Thingies Thursday for today is short and sweet. Since Valentine is just around the corner, Coloradolady will not mind us sharing loves from the past.

This a Valentine I gave my mother back in the mid forties or early fifties. It has survived for many years. She was only 54 when she passed away October 1961.

Nobody in my family saved cards, with the exception of my first birthday cards.

I am going to show vintage Gibson valentines on my blog Sunday.

So cool it was saved for so many years! My dad saved many things that meant a lot to him, and after he passed away, we were finding them all hidden in different spots in the house! Every day was like a treasure hunt!

What a sweet daughter you were, LV... By the way, how did you get your name? Is it a family name??? SO pretty!!!!

Your mother did die young... I'm so sorry. My Mama lived 'til she was 91.. Bless her soul.

Great post.. Love the old Valentines.
Hugs,
Betsy

Thank you for sharing such precious memories. As you can see by my header, I love vintage valentines, too. Thanks for visiting today, and you know quilters are always in need of those who 'Buy' but don't quilt! We appreciate you buyers...it helps us onto the next old quilt to fixup....Sue
