My first Vintage Thingies Thursday Christmas with Coloradolady. It is not my usual norm for this day, but it definitely qualifies.
I received this sweater as a Christmas gift 40 years ago, which was around 1967-1968 time. It was purchased in a little town in Arkansas. It has been one of may favorite sweaters, and wear it every Christmas. I get a lot of compliments on it even after 40 years. It must have been a very good brand to have stayed in great condition. In fact, the label inside shows to be a V.I.P. brand, which I am not familiar with. I thought it might have stood for "Very Important Person".
The shape of the designs remind me of a colored snow flake.
These pictures are to show that the little balls are tied on individually.

Isn't it amazing how Christmas Sweaters never seem to go out-of-style... I love yours.
Thanks for sharing.

Those Xmas balls at the top are very pretty! You've had that sweater for 40 years - amazing! Think about it - half of your life! Like old friends.
How nice with a sweather of that age that still is in use, that is what I call quality.
How pretty. It's nice that the design is timeless enough that you can keep wearing it.
La Voice, A beautiful sweater, I have some old Christmas sweaters but they are not quite that old.
Have a great day.

Your sweater is beautiful and you've taken great care of it for being 40 years old. I'll bet you do get lots of compliments. Like your calendar too!
wow, thats amazing that you can still wear it! so many things are wrecked by than because stuff just isnt made well.... or maybe thats just stuff made now huh?
happy vtt!
Lovely sweater! and it's aged well.
That is definitely a well-made sweater, LV! I am a collector of novelty and holiday sweaters and you don't see individual items sewn on like that, it's all 1 string and if one comes off they all do.
Your sweater is very festive! Blessings!
Gwen
Very pretty, you should have modeled for us.
That is truly a beautiful sweater!! So different. At first I thought the pinwheels were made with buttons but I see they are little balls. Really great that you've been able to keep it all these years. It looks new!
Yes, this is a special sweater and I remember it from years ago...too bad the other one like it is long gone....Happy VTT!
Oh wow that is an oldie & what fun that you wear it still!
Lovely sweater. It sure looks great!
