Blue Monday

It is going to be hot time on Blue Monday.  We are roasting here. Trust things are better your way. No doubt Sally and her group will share some cool blues.  Let's check them out at

Make sure you have your camera handy when waiting for a long freight train.  At least, one of the cars turned up blue. Even my blue car sticker go in on the show.

A Star Pink Saturday

I believe this is the first time I am not sharing one thing pink with Beverly and friends. As you know, our hostess is allowing us to feature other things at this time.  I am sure if you visit http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog there will be some nice pinks.

Recently a touring display showcasing hundreds of items that belonged to this popular actress, Shirley Temple, was in town.  This is a very small portion of the things they had on display.

Different dresses worn in events and movies throughout her career.

She cherished this custom-made leather saddle given to her by Joseph Schenk, co-founder of Fox Studios, for her horse,Spunky.

This is a child sized racing car given to her by close friend and co-star, "Bojangles" Robinson.

This is one of her most recognizable movie outfits in the 1934 film," Stand Up and Cheer".

Shirley Temple's mother saved everything form her legendary 1930's career. She is the reason one of the most remarkable collections of movie memorabilia, all of it in mint condition, exists today.The tour has ended and they had an auction this month for some of her collection. Since we both were born in the depression time, I have always loved and respected her for what she did with her life. Material things can disappear, but memories are forever.

 One of several little fellows that stop by for a visit. Photos not too good as had to take through the window.  They are very fast.
