Friday's Fences

Where has the week gone?   Seems only yesterday we were visiting Friday's Fences with Jan & Jer. Mine this week is one of my very favorites.  These beautiful horses just strode right up and continued eating as though I was not there. Please visit http://lifeaccordingtojanandjer.blogspot.com and see what fences the other participates have found.

Much prettier enlarged.

Vintage Thingie Thursday

Today I am giving Coloradolady the Royal treatment. If you visit http://coloradolady.blogspot.com, you will find many great vintage treats.

I have a complete set of the Flower of the Month Series made in 1970. However, the set originality belonged to my sister.  I bought it for her back then for her birthday.  They recently downsized and got rid of a lot of things.   Since I had bought the set, she felt I should have it back. They sold a lot of things, but she would never have gotten what this set is worth. I will store them for another generation to do as they please with them.

Blue Monday

Smiling Sally

Today would be great if we had some blue, cool water to splash in. That is the furthest thing around here.  However, we can still enjoy our visit with Sally at http://smilingsally.blogspot.com.  There you will find many "cool" blues.

 Different views of blues.

Home sweet home for some little bird.

Vintage Thingie Thursday

You never know what will turn up at Coloradolady's vintage show. Mine is a over-sized straight razor.  I saw this in an antique store. I am sure it was used for advertising purposes. Back in my young days, all the men used a much smaller version daily.  They kept them sharp using an old leather strap.
Drop by http://coloradolady.blogspot.com and see what the other participates have to share.

Outdoor Wednesday

Susan always has her door open at http://asoutherndaydreamer.blogspot.com to share some great Outdoor Scenes.

Nature showing off some of her beauty with this pretty cactus.

All roads lead somewhere. A few may be to a dead in, but not this one.

Laughing Tuesday With MeMe

Like most all of us, there are days that nothing goes right.  I have had a few of them lately. I found some cute subjects that definitely brought a smile.  Trust they will brighten your day as well.

KETCHUP
A woman was trying hard to  get ketchup out of a bottle.  During her struggle the phone rang so she asked her 4-year old daughter to answer the phone.  "Mommy can't come to the phone to talk to you right now.  She is hitting the bottle".

DRESS-UP
A little girl was watching her parents dress for a party.  When she saw her dad wearing his tuxedo, she warned, 'Daddy, you should mot wear that suit'.
And, why not, darling? 'You know that is always gives you a headache the next morning'.

SCHOOL
A little girl had just finished her first week at a school.  'I'm just wasting my time, she said to her mother.  I can't read, I can't write, and they won't let me talk!'

BIBLE
A little boy opened the big family Bible.  He was fascinated as he fingered through the old pages.  Suddenly, something fell out of the Bible.  He picked up the object and looked at it.  What he saw was an old leaf that had been pressed in between the pages. 'Mama, look what I found, he called out.  "What have you got there, dear?"  With astonishment in the young boy's voice, he answered, "I think it's Adam's underwear!"

Take time to enjoy some of nature's great beauty.

Friday's Fences

Jan & Jer invites you to join them at http://lifeaccordingtojanandjer.blogspot.com for some very interesting fence sightings.

As you can tell, I have been taking notice of all fences when driving around. I had to take this out of the car window.

Comments Pay Off - Tuesday With MeMe

 A LOSING WINNER

Jillian is the proud owner of Bella Rosa Antiques. She has so many pretty things to share.  Take a peek at http://BellaRosaAntiques.blogspot.com

She recently had a giveaway honoring her on line store's 5th Anniversary. One of the rules to enter was to leave a comment and select which item you would prefer if you were the winner.

Since I was not born under a winning star, I seldom enter giveaways anymore. However, looking over all the wonderful things she had to select from, I left a comment.  There was a pretty green vintage Swarovski crystal bracelet that represented my birthstone, Peridot. I told her should I be the lucky winner that was my choice.

On Pink Saturday, she announced five winners, but I was not one of them. Curious about the bracelet, I decided to see if one of the winners might have chosen it. Guess what!  It had been marked SOLD. I accepted the fact, I lost again.

Last week, I was what you would call being on a roller coaster ride.  Lots of ups and downs. Needless to say all that came to a halt when the mail came Saturday. I was very surprised when I received a package from PA. Had no idea who it could be. However, when I opened it, I went into total shock. It was that lovely green, crystal bracelet.

Everybody has different opinions when it comes to comments. They are important to me and enjoyed very much. The only reason I am the proud owner of this bracelet is because a very popular blogger read my comment.  She is a very thoughtful, caring, wonderful cook and loved throughout the blog world. It is none other than our own "bj" at Sweet Nothings. She entertains all visitors at http://sweetnothingsbj.blogspot.com.

bj, it is not easy expressing my true feelings at times, but you really touched this senior. That was a really cool way to surprise me.  I really like the way you set everything up and made it an awesome time.  THANK YOU for thinking of me and taking the time to be so kind.

This is definitely not a good shot of my bracelet.  I could not seem to get the light right to capture its true color. I love it and so proud that a dear blogging friend cared.
This is the way it actually looks.   I took this off Jillian's blog. So very pretty.

This is vintage postcard that Jillian included as a bonus surprise.

Thank you so much bj and
Jillian.
