Choctaw Blue Monday

Smiling Sally

Happy Blue Monday Sally and worldwide friends. Nothing like starting your week off with the lovely color blue.  Many of them can be found at http://smilingsally.blogspot.com
As noted on the photo, these gentlemen are up in years but still doing great. Walter, on the left, served in the U.S. Army from 1944-46.  He still promotes Choctaw heritage in local schools.

Mr. Newman, on your right, is a recipient of the Purple Heart and Silver medal.  Served in the Army from 1943-46.

However, the best part, they both like blue shirts.

Enjoy the day and have fun whatever you do.

What wonderful photos. I love that you went down that road to see what was down there and why the road didn't go anywhere. So many times, I've wanted to do just that.

I think our wicked cold spell has broken. I hope! You have a wonderful day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Nice blue shirts! I always enjoy Blue Monday! I'm taking a PJ day and staying home! I've been busy and out every day for too long! Too bad it's going to be the warmest day of the week (77 degrees)

My Mom still goes to a beauty parlor where they have these type dryers.
I think the lady is in her late 70s and going strong cutting hair and doing perms.

Good morning LV, We were out of internet service all day and last night because of serious ice storms. Thank goodness we escaped the worst of it because our temps barely went to freezing. This morning the sun is shining and for the first time in five days we can get out to get groceries etc.

Your pic of the World War II veterans is terrific. We need to remember how they were part of a bad war. Most men like blue. Loved the hairdresser pic as well. Thank goodness we do not go through this any more.

Have a wonderful week my sweet friend.
Love, Jeanne

Thanks for posting about the Choctaw men. I am Choctaw. I made my aunt, my daughter and me a Choctaw dress with the diamonds many years ago so I immediately recognized the applique done by hand. Take care, Darlene
