Blue Monday

Smiling Sally

Sorry Sally, not an exciting blue sharing today.  However, there will definitely be some great ones at
http://smilingsally.blogspot.com

I try to visit my sister and her husband twice a year.  They have always been so fun. However, this one definitely turned out to be a nightmare.  My sister picked me up Thursday morning (10-29).  Everything was fine. We talked and laughed on the way home and even stopped for breakfast. Come Friday morning (10-30) she got up very sick, in severe pain. Bear in mind, I am not familiar with the area and have never driven a pickup. She got worse and wanted me to get her to to their primary doctor. Turns out they could not help her and had to have an ambulance take her to hospital in Memphis. Her husband has so many issues and cannot do somethings for himself. Had to leave him home alone and trusted he would be okay. Due to this nightmare, I was to return on Tuesday (11-3) but had to extend it until Saturday (11-7) until her daughter(who does not live there) could come and help me.  I could not be in two places at once. Her daughter stayed until she was dismissed (11-2). She works and could not get anymore time off then.  I stayed and tried to care for both until Saturday (11-7) when her daughter and husband came and took them home with them for awhile. Sadly, it has come to the point they are going to have to make decisions that we do not like to make. My sister is not well, but nothing life threatening.

Sounds as if you have been weathering some very difficult times. But clearly you have a lot of inner strength to keep going. You are amazing. And love the little blue face and the last image.

LV, Bless you. You were there when they needed you and did what you could. It must have felt a little overwhelming. Take Care.

Morning La Voice,

Oh no! What was supposed to be a lovely visit became a nightmare of frustration. The good thing, however, is that you were able to help. Your sister and brother-in-law now face an unpleasant change. I feel for them.

Thanks for playing today.
Have a Beautiful Blue Monday!

i'm truly sorry. i know that must have been extremely stressful for you and worrisome for all, but i'm glad you were there when she took such a bad turn. i know they both appreciated your presence. glad their kids could take them home with them for now.

Goodness, I hope all turns out well for your sister and her hubby. You've had quite a busy time of it.

None of us likes to think about making plans for when we reach this stage in our lives, but it is something that we really should do. I've told my children that I want to be on my own as long as I possible can. After that, we'll see. I do have options.

I hope you're able to get some well earned rest now. With a bit of luck, the weather will be good and you'll be able to enjoy it. You have a wonderful day, hugs, Edna B.

Sorry that your visit turned out less than ideal, but then maybe it was meant to be that you could be there to help when needed.

Lots of pray for all of you. It is so tough as we grow older. No one wants to lose their independence so I hope your sister has a full recovery or perhaps the daughter and her family can assist them with the living arrangements. Three of my kids, all at the ins. co. either have to move to Plano, Texas or find other work. We don't want to meddle but Rebekah had hopes of buying our house from us so we could all live together. We will pray and see what happens. I worry for Jeremy as he and Brittany just bought their home and she has a child who has a father who lives here so the move is out for them right now. Noelle and Roger could go but the moving expenses won't cover the higher rent they would pay. They have a real sweet deal right now. You take care and enjoy your week my friend. I am glad I know you. Hugs!

I'm sorry to hear this happened to your sister and you, LV. It is hard when one is elderly and family lives far away. It is one of the reasons my husband and I decided to move close to our children. We help them now with the grandchildren and hopefully they will help us someday when we need it. I hope your sister will regain her health soon.

Dearest L.V.,
Sad to read this but glad you made it through and that you even could be of some help to your sister and her husband.
Not easy when elderly people come to this stage and yes, decisions must be made; never easy but no alternative.
Sending you hugs and hope you get rested up again.

Hi LV, I'm so sorry to read that your sister is very sick. What a blessing that you could be there to help for a little while. This is not an easy time when life changing decisions have to be made to care for an elderly family member. I had to do this for my grandmother then my mother and it is a challenge. Blessings to your family in the days ahead. Hugs

Oh my goodness . It was a nightmare, but I am glad you were there for your sister. What if you had not been there? Yes, it definitely sounds like decision time. (Those darn decision-times never stop coming! not too many years ago I used to think that at least when I got old I wouldn't have to worry about so much. Ha ha! That didn't quite work out like it was supposed to!)

Good thoughts for things to go as well as possible for your sis and her family. And you take care of yourself my dear. After all that it is time for you to relax and spoil yourself a bit if you can !!!!
