Pink Saturday

Have several nice rings, but nothing in pink. Back when I was young and working, thought I had to have them.  Now, I do not wear them. Surely, I am not the only Pink Saturday person that has done this. I recognize how much time and money I have spent in the acquisition of stuff.

As we get older, our priorities change. The desire to own is being replaced by the desire to live and enjoy the day.

Everyone drop by Beverly's at http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog and see what interesting pinks you can find.

i gave up jewelry and make-up quite a few years ago. life and living is so much simpler these days. :)

This is a gorgeous and unusual ring. And if it is real, the price would be astronomic! It seems we spend the first half of our lives acquiring things, and the second half trying to get rid of them. This is what my dying friend is trying to do, but she is running out of time.

Ginny, I never want to collect the things we gave away when we downsized...I'd rather live and enjoy life...:)JP

Although the ring is very pretty, your philosophy is much more beautiful.

Oh, dear...I used to wear rings on nearly every finger...as I've aged, and with so many blood thinners, my hands are black and blue most of the time..wear rings only when they are free of bumps and bruises...but I still LOVE pretty rings.

Happy Pink Saturday, LV! I have a feeling my lil'pink princess would love to wear something like that when she's a bit older... or right now ;)

So true LV. I feel the same way as you about things these days. The pink ring is pretty but I would not wear it. I am giving things away instead of adding to what I have. I love the way you think dear.

Very pretty ring. I'm so glad you shared it. And you are right. It is nice to enjoy things but they are less and less important as time goes by.

Yes, I know just what you mean. Now, the question is what to do with all of our acquisitions.

But, I must admit that I do love this ring.

Happy Pink Saturday, dear LaVoice.♥

I think a lot of people should be more modest in their jewelry. I also went ahead and bought the wedding band for me and Daisy's wedding to get it out of the way and it's just plain silver.

LV, I agree with you entirely. My new mantra is now "experiences not possesions".

Oh my, that ring is simply gorgeous! Alas, at my age now, I do not have the desire to wear the beautiful jewelry. But I still do enjoy looking at it. Sometimes it's good to drool over something for just a little bit.

Now it's time to make breakfast here. My little Pogo is sitting next to me patiently waiting for something to eat. You have a wonderful day, hugs, Edna B.

Hello Friend! I agree---much more important to collect experiences and memories than things! Hope you've had a nice weekend. We're under yucky ol' tornado watch all night and tomorrow morning so say a prayer we don't get blown away!

Lots of love and Happy Pink Saturday!
Sarah
